Good'ol Pass Rush Days

Recommended Posts

An excerpt from an article on the Minnesota Vikings elite defense ...

" ... Everson Griffen got there in the end.  Held without a sack for three-plus quarters in Minnesota's 33-16 win over the Browns in London, the Vikings pass rusher ultimately took down quarterback DeShone Kizer with 2:56 left on the clock.  The play vaulted Griffen into an elite club, making him just the third player in league history to open a campaign with a sack in eight consecutive games, something only Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis have accomplished."

Oh how I miss the heat from the line's edges that Freeney and Mathis would bring.  Freeney with his patented spin move, Mathis with his hard charging drop the shoulder coming around the left side of the line.  Oh all of the strip sacks!

Anyway, in this season of doom, nice to look back and remember the good'ol times. <sigh>
