I know i saw a thread about this but i couldnt find it anymore... the cleats have been showcased for the 2012 season for all 32 teams and the gloves for the browns and jets have also been released.. I gotta say i like how the colts new cleats look lol...

Just think Oregon Ducks and you pretty much have a good idea of how the Cool the NFL might look next season...

The new Uniforms will be revealed in april, its not said in this article but i read it in an older article.

Well the ones you saw in the previous thread were fake it was a fans take so we still dont know what they really will look like... some teams wont be willing to change especially teams like the cowboys and giants so who knows... the colts need a change from the jersey's they have now.. its only fitting that there is change with the uniforms as well in indy lol

I heard they would be wearing capes, but you still have to grab the shoulder pads for it to be a horse collar penalty.

I'm rather positive Nike has no right to mandate anything about the uniforms, and change would only come from each organization. Sure, Nike can design them (and obviously that's what the new contract stipulates), but the teams would have to choose to make that change. I honestly don't think this will amount to much more than a one off, if that. I've not even seen any agreement about teams wanting these uniforms full time.

I don't doubt the gloves and cleats, though.

Cleats and gloves are real...Nike debuted them at the Pro Bowl according to the OP article and Nike's Facebook page.

As for the unis, some will change. In fact, the Seahawks have been working with Nike over the last year and will have completely new unis with the same logo. The teams/NFL own the logos, and the logos and team colors can only be changed every so often and have to be approved by the league, but there is not the same restriction on changing the actual jerseys if they keep the same logo and colors from what I understand. There is a lot of speculation about this right now, and I think there will be some dramatic changes but that most will be pretty similar and will only look different because of material, stitching, etc.

That's pretty much what I said, though I may have lacked clarity in parts. My point was that Nike has no say. They can offer concepts, design the uniforms, and even work with teams, but they can't make wholesale changes. Some team will likely change now, as a new company is making them anyway, but the title of this thread is highly misleading. New material? Almost certainly. New uniforms? At the most, that's being vague on the definition of uniform. There is no evidence that many of the teams will go so far as to change uniforms entirely. Teams like the Steelers, Colts, Cowboys, Browns, Colts, Packers, Redskins, and Raiders have kept a roughly similar look for a long time. I doubt more than one of those teams would be willing to make wholesale changes to the point that I'd call them new uniforms.

To me, that picture looks like Luck's 100% young and uninjured, healthy, not 36-yr-old hand holding a football and about to actually throw it. I couldn't say the same for that other guy we are about to cut.
