did they throw more vertical routes or run more? most mesh plays involve at least two verts to clear out space for the mesh crossers. Phi was famous for mesh in their SB year. without the vert threat the long crossers will be ineffective.

Gotta give a HUGE edge to Aaron Rodgers since this will be Tom Brady's first ever NFC Championship Game -

For what it’s worth..... Back in the day, coming out of college, Robert was 6’4” and 295 and was listed as both a DE and DT. Looks like he’s now put on nearly 20 pounds. He’s now about 312. So he’s a DT all the way. If he’s matured and eliminated all the “distractions” in his life, then I wish him well. I’d like to see him turn his life around. -
Any Tightends in the mix? I feel we need another TE, a real tall one that can block too!

I’ve spent my adult life in the word business. Either writing them or speaking them. Words matter. While I wouldn’t rule out a left tackle with sub-33 inch arms, I’d simply say it’s very rare. Joe Thomas, who I looked up to confirm, had 32 1/2 inch arms. He was a Hall of Fame talent. He had exceptional talent and skills. I suspect he succeeded not because of his arms, but in spite of them. He was that good. Typically, if you’re a quality OL with short arms, you’ll be moved inside to guard. Ballard had to be convinced that Smith could play the less demanding RT because his arms were only 32 1/2. It’s hard to see Ballard even considering trying him on the left side, but I shouldn’t say never. I’m reminded of the old saying... “necessity is the mother of invention”. So it’s possible. But I’d call it the longest of long shots.
