Well, for the IU fans, we couldn't have asked for a better 1st half... or a worse 2nd half...  :(

For you OSU fans, just reverse that.  Ya'll got some work to do to stay #2. (hopefully higher when Bama loses on Saturday)

I was hoping for the upset tonight; I always root for the underdog.  :dunno:  Let's see some shakeups in these rankings.  Go FSU on Saturday.

Indiana just didn't have the depth that OSU has.  Great coaching and they came out and punched them in the mouth.  They just didn't have the firepower to last and that's just the difference between the Alabama's and OSU's of college football and the rest of the CFB teams.  No shame in it, they'll make a bowl game this year and might finish with 7 or 8 wins.

I was really impressed with the fight and passion that IU started the game off with and in turn punched Ohio State in the mouth in the first half. Lagow played very well, and if the run game would have picked up some steam I think IU could have pulled the upset. But since Ohio State took away the run and made the right adjustments and they made Lagow throw the ball all night, they just got worn down and that's when the 3 and outs started to happen in the second half. I think Tom Allen's enthusiasm will be contagious for this team and they will play hard for him because he believes in them. I am going to be at the Virginia game and I hope they can bring the same intensity for that game that they had against Ohio State in the first half, just keep it up for the whole game.

Yeah I knew they were going to take a dump in the third.  They usually seem to play well first half against good teams, then Legow just starts throwing INTs, fumbling, making stupid mistakes and the D starts to just deteriorate.  That being said, I do think they will be decent this year.  OSU is tough.

    • I’m not worried about Richardson in the slightest bit. He’s 1 of about 4 guys on our team with value.
    • He’s been bullish on that for awhile. Remember for awhile we just had Pittman, Campbell, and Pascal at WR because he thought we were fine. Took him until 2022 to draft Pierce and then 2023-2024 he drafted Downs and Mitchell.   Hes been not upgrading the secondary for awhile now too. Traded Gilmore last offseason and let Rodney McCloud walk. He was going to roll into 2023 with the secondary being some combination of Dallis Flowers, Isaiah Rogers, Darrell Baker, JuJu Brents, Rodney Thomas, Jaylon Jones, Nick Cross, Tony Brown, and Blackmon.   The season ended and the excuse was that that the secondary was bad because two of their young unproven corners were not available for the season (Rogers suspended and cut and Flowers IR after week 1).   Then this season he ran it back and pretty much just gave the starting corner spots to Brents and Jones. He brought in no veteran competition. It’s like once they lost the battle for Snead, that was it for trying to upgrade the secondary.
    • Last year, Richardson was replaced by a backup quarterback, and we won a lot of games.
    • Yeah, I think Cowherd was probably stating a demonstrable fact about QBs not improving their accuracy much, rather than stating his opinion.  So its the message more than the messenger for me on this.
    • Hard to say at this point. But there will be a handful of QBs in R1 (Ward, Moss, Beck, Nussmeier). I can't see them only winning 2-3 games to have that pick, but if they did, there will be a new GM. If he believes in AR, then he will try to fix him for a year and parlay that pick into multiple picks to rebuild essentially the whole defense.
