Some of these players are made of glass. They can't even practice without getting hit and they still get hurt. Too much weight training and conditioning today for these modern day players.

I vote that this be the only serious injury suffered by a Colt, this year!

Pope is the kid that went off in Seattle during the preseason last year. I'm more excited about him than I was Michael. Michael is one of those guys we know what he can do but hope for more. 

 

Pope had 164 yards on 24 carries 6.8 ypc with at least 2tds last preseason. He also had a 62 yard kick return. He made big play after big play. He nearly beat out Alex Collins. He certainly outplayed him.

 

He was claimed by NYJ then shelved with an ankle injury. The Hawks got him back then cut him 6/1 after the secondary got hit this off season.  I wanted to sign him when the Hawks cut him last season.

 

Seattle is a team to watch during cuts. They loaded up on CB's and RB's.  They have Rawls Lacey Prosise Collins Davis Carson among the 9 RB's on their roster.  Pierre Desir and/or Neiko Thorpe could be cut too.

I have no clue to what his injury was but he should be able to return after week 8.  That gives him around 3 months to heal.

While I understand true injuries occur, the cynical part of me gets suspicious at times when a player sustains a season ending type of injury in OTA's, with no contact and no pads involved. 

 

Skeptic in me says player had a previous injury that he could conceal and rather than fail a physical and get labeled with NFI (non football injury) he gets signed, tries to execute on his injury and and it mysteriously manifests, or gets aggravated further while under contract. Possibly paid for getting themselves hurt in the off-season...
