I didn't say nonsense or pain in the but. I used real words

    • Good for Rivers. What a career and a very nice last season with the Colts. I have always been a fan of him.
    • I left out the fact that his QB wasn't good at the things that you wanted him to be used for...   It looked like they had a good feel for Cain's fit before the 2018 season, then he got hurt. We never saw him physically perform after that. He got a significant number of snaps, but only 14 targets, and 4 catches, then they let him go. I don't think Cain's issue was the way the staff used him.   So it's weird to me to see you latch onto Deon Cain of all people as an example of Reich misusing a receiver.
    • I have been running mock drafts on The Draft Network, and almost every time, the Vikings offer a trade at 14 for our picks 21 and 164 in this year's draft, and our third rounder in next year's draft. In about half of the draft scenarios, Trey Lance is still on the board. I know there is a website that provides point values for various picks, so I guess I have two questions:   1) Is this viable in terms of value? 2) If it is, and Trey Lance is on the board, would you make this deal?
    • I posted this in the RIvers retirement thread, but here are my 2 cents:   Re-sign Jacoby Brissett for a minimal salary and tell him he will need to compete for the starting QB job while keeping Eason in the fray. This keeps a veteran presence on the team and a guy who could help out a young QB room.   Draft: Draft a WR1 with our pick in Round 1 - the team needs weapons regardless who the QB is   Trade up to the end of Round 1 or to the top of Round 2 and draft Trask - accurate pocket passer who can run this type of offense almost immediately or maybe sit 1 year if needed   The QB room would be Trask on a rookie deal, Eason in his 2nd year on a rookie deal, and a fairly cheap veteran in Brissett. This will keep the salary for our QBs pretty low, allowing free agency money to be spent elsewhere.   Free Agency: Sign a veteran Left Tackle who can immediately start - keeps the rest of a very good O-Line intact and should protect the QB while continuing to be a force in the running game   Sign Mack to a cheap, team-friendly deal to really commit to the ground game to help out a young QB - Taylor, Mack, and Hines will be a great trio of RBs that this team can rely on and win
    • First...here are the regular season DVOA rankings that I have been citing this whole time. The defense was ranked well above the offense all season...even peaking top 3 at one point. Total DVOA: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/team-efficiency/2020   Offense DVOA: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/team-offense/2020 Defense DVOA: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/team-defense/2020 Based on this date, their schedule on defense was actually top 15...while the offense was #32.   We can argue which efficiency stats have more merit...but these are the stats I am using.    I assume the Colts being ranked #20 is in reference to opponent passing yards/game. We all know this scheme is conducive to surrendering passing yards. But right behind IND in this category is TB (one of the 4 remaining teams) and MIA (a good pass defense all season). Are you saying those defenses can’t win a SB...because one of them is pretty close.  And ranked a handful of spots ahead of IND at #13 and #14 is KC and BUF...who allowed ~10 less passing yards/game...essentially one less pass.   In fact, there’s a really good chance that a team ranked outside the top 10 in opponent passing yards and team defense DVOA wins a SB.   There is no chance that a team outside the top 10 for team passing yards is winning a SB...or outside the top 5 for team offense DVOA.   There is always room for improvement...but the Colts are pretty close to where other SB teams are on defense. It’s the offense that needs to take the next step. I am glad Rivers retired...because now we can see it happen.
