Drop around 20 spots in the 4th for an extra 5th in a deep draft. No one should be upset or surprised by this. Ballard said this is exactly what he wanted to do. I'm happy with it.

We thought it would happen earlier like 2nd round or first

It's a shame you weren't in the war room to talk them out of such a dumb move! lmao

If this is all we get.. it is a dumb move, despite your snarky comment.... 49ers got a decent RB.... what'sthe use  of stock piling picksif we just give them away...

They traded back because the guys who they had graded for that spot were all gone. That or they have a bunch of similarly graded players in that they can afford to drop back and still get a guy they like.

I more mad because ive been watching the draft and have to wait longer to see who we pick. Sucked cohen got took

This is where getting guys for the competition for the cream to rise part comes in.

During the Polian days, we wondered why our special teams sucked. That was because we built it top heavy and did not get enough quality players drafted that were good for special teams. Having more later round picks is how you see which ones give you that versatility on top of the position they were drafted for.

It's not a dumb move. The board dictated the trade. They'll more than likely still get the guy they would have taken at 121.

Colts pick up the 49ers' fourth (143) and fifth (161) round picks this year in exchange for the 121st pick.

I like the deal because it is an early 5th.

I am okay with this. There are more players left "that I like" than we can draft. I am sure the Colts front office feels the same way.
