I know it's a bitter pill to swallow but I'll take Lamp as well. If we go this direction,  every other pick made thereafter will be more valuable.  Sounds a little weird but, I'd we address this need, then it will allow everything else to fall in place,  with an option to select BPA.

I wouldn't be upset at all though if we did Draft a CB or Pass Rusher but I want to protect Luck as much as possible while we have these high picks. If we lose him we are screwed.

She could maybe be open to a civil suit but she probably doesn't have that much money to go after in the first place.

Two things you would think would happen immediately following the incident. The kit should also be tested by now as well which potentially proves his innocence (or guilt since he said nothing happened when something could have, consensual or not).

well if she went on national TV bragging about making up these allegations, then she'd absolutely be opening herself up for a civil suit...not just "might be" or "could be".  Just quibbling over semantics I guess...just thought the wording of "could be" was a bit funny. lol

It's not uncommon for women to make a false accusation to get money out of wealthy men. We call those broads gold diggas. It's not always that way but I'm always skeptical unless there's way too much smoke to be no fire

As to an actual crime, he may not have done anything wrong but his decision making is pretty well awful.  

 

And while this is on-going, I think it pretty damn tactless / tasteless to suggest that she is only about the money.

Yep. She even went to the hospital and had a kit done on her. You don't go through all that humiliation without at least something have happened (consensual or not). Plus in many states those rap kits are backed up for years for testing. Unless Cleveland has worked through their logs then it could be a long time...certainly longer than weeks to get test results back. No way to know before the draft. Bad situation all around unfortunately. I'm afraid this could be another situation like Collins from a couple years ago. Certainly I can't understand how he could still go in the first rd with all this surrounding him. Kinda stinks because I know a lot of people on here liked his prospects. I'd imagine he will be off our board all together if this can't be quickly refuted. Edge and LB look more and more appealing at 15. Its still a deep board for corner but in that top 15 range I'm not sure unless someone falls to us I wouldn't just wait for day two to grab out of that second tier which should still have a bunch of quality players. Even if Conley didn't rape or even have sex with the girl, the events leading up to the climax (or not) are troubling enough.  I guess that's why several GMs are "questioning is judgment" (you know, that's just a PC way of saying they think he's dumb)

 

Conley, sex; Foster, drugs; and Brantley, violence.  In the past month, we've experienced a trifecta in non-college-material "college students" displaying the extremely low aptitude of not being able to control some of the most primitive urges during a short time when it is THE most important time for their future.

 

If they can't control them now, when can they?  At least Mixon's urge-control problem is three years old when he was quite young.  It takes a certain amount of intelligence for a person to understand their situation and a level of discipline to control their urges.  Generally, a level of both are required to be a successful independent college student.

Yep.  The whole truth has yet to be known.

 

So, at one point he was charming enough to get her up to a hotel room and to be lying on the bed with her, but then switched into being rude and kicking her out.  Golly, what happened to make him switch his personality?

Well I guess we will find out in the coming weeks whether he did or didn't for sure he will slip out of the draft with that one Shawn Oakman last year did something like this right before the draft last year he went undrafted and nobody picked him up and nobody has heard of him since. so it is possible I guess that Conley did it too.
