How are you feeling about the prospects that could realistically fall to the Colts.

For me:

Would be happy with:

Taco Charlton

Gareon Conley

Would be ok with:

Reuben Foster

Zach Cunningham

Cam Robinson

Forest Lamp

Malik Hooker

Would be disappointed with:

Dalvin Cook

Christian McCaffery

Takkarist McKinley

OJ Howard

Uttlerly dejected

Jabrill Peppers

John Ross

I love your utterly dejected category, haha!

I have my ideas about what I would think would be best, but honestly this year I'm not going to get up in arms over who the Colts pick unless it IS one of those players in the Utterly Dejected category.  I see little to no reason either of those two should be in discussion at our pick.  Especially John Ross.  If we're going to go WR (and I REALLY REALLY hope we don't) then one of Williams or Davis should be there.  Ross would give me Dorsett feelings all over again.

Aside from those two and any QB or Center, I think I'll ultimately be ok with whoever they choose.

My only utter defection would be if we drafted a WR at 1.  Any WR.  I'd be happy with McCaffrey, or OJ.  Less so with Cook even though I think he's very talented.  Also a bit with Takk simply because of his injury issue.

Not a big Taco fan.  Never even eaten at a Taco Bell.  But I could get with all of the others on your list..

As far as positions of need it has to be CBs and LBs first.  But if we get the Corvette (McCaffrey) instead of repairing the leak in the roof (any D or Oline player), I'm not going to complain.

If we draft John Ross I will become convinced that Ballard is really just Grigson in disguise.

You could look at Grigson's draft picks, even many of his UDFA signings and you can tell the man had a thing for really fast WR's.  John Ross would be his dream player.

With Peppers a lot of it is just off my personal belief (maybe misguided) that he is a guaranteed bust in the first round.  I honestly don't understand what the fascination is with him other then he hits people really hard.

Just for the record I was automatically discounting any player that I didn't feel had much of a chance of falling to us at 15.

So names like Garrett and Adams I would be extremely happy to get but let's be honest it's not happening.

You actually have a board?

A big board? No but more of a board of players I want/think the Colts will draft. So there's no QBs or WRs on that board really. I break it up into rounds. More of a mental board with said prospects being put into various mocks that I have in the notes section of my phone.

Great format idea!    Seriously!     But surprised you didn't have Haason Reddick anywhere on your list.   Did you mean him over Zack Cunningham?     ZC hasn't been talked abut much here for about 6-8 weeks....    And HR is perhaps the most popular pick for the Colts on the site.     Just asking...

I"ll try your format now...

Would be happy with:

LB Haason Reddick

OL Forrest Lamp

CB Gareon Conley

OLB Tak McKinley

OLB Charles Harris

OLB Derek Barnett

CB   Tredavious White

DB   Jamaal Adams

DB   Malik Hooker

Would be OK with:

RB Leonard Fournette

RB Christian McCaffrey

RB Dalvin Cook

LB Rueben Foster

CB Kevin King

DB Obi Melifownu

TE OJ Howard

DL  Taco Charlton

Would be disappointed with:

TE  David Njoku

DL  Malik McDowell

Any other OL

Any other RB

Any other LB

Any other CB

Any other DB

Would be upset with:

Any WR

@15 I'm pretty cool with the idea of selecting any Defender who can rush the passer, cover receivers, or play sideline-to-sideline.

As much as I covet a TE like Njoku for Luck, I'm against selecting an offensive player this high in this Draft. And many of the Offensive players I like, but I LOVE the Defenders this year & We NEED one of them to BTM!

Simple List: No offensive player is thrilling for us right now & no McDowell

Thrilled With:

A Cover Corner

A Sack Artist/ edge player that creates pressure

A Sideline to Sideline LBer

Meh:

Reached for OLine

All-star RB that can't play defense like Troy Brown did in the slot

Abhor:

McDowell (especially after Ballard preached about culture in a locker room, as he's reading about the Cubs)

As crazy as it may sound, I believe R. Foster would be a great player to bring in to change the culture, but I still prefer Haason to lead the speedy, youth revolution Ballard & Pagano are promoting.

I just didn't think of him.  I'm not super high on him although I'd be ok with him.

Walterfootball listed him as hiving high bust potential.  Which I don't just automatically believe what the guy has to say on everything but he has a fairly good record which he keeps track of when he says a player has a high bust potential.

Honestly I'm tired of boom or bust picks and would rather just go with less risky players if possible.
