Take it for what its worth...Its his agent...on NFL.com Friday 2/3/12

Peyton Manning's agent, Tom Condon, said Friday that it would not be foolish or unsafe for Manning to play football next season as he continues to recover from neck surgery.

Manning's doctor "has said that he's structurally sound and that the fusions have taken place and that he's healed," Condon said on NFL Network's "Super Bowl Live." "He said he can take a hit and play in a football game."

Lombardi: 10 SB thoughts

As we get ready for Super Bowl XLVI,
Michael Lombardi
shares 10 things on his mind two days before the big game.

On Thursday, Manning's surgeon, Dr. Robert Watkins, issued a statement saying that Manning had been "medically cleared to play."

"He certainly expects to return to play and he wants to play," Condon said. "He's enthusiastic about it. I think the rehabilitation is going very well and he believes that also. He's made a substantial amount of progress and we anticipate him playing football next year."

Condon said he was responding to what he called "some substantial discussion" that Manning "wasn't going to be able to play and it was too dangerous and it was foolish to even think about it." To the contrary, Condon said, "He is sound. ... He can take a hit."

"The reality is there's been a good deal said about Peyton and he's foolish and foolhardy and endangering himself and all that, and again that's not accurate," Condon said.

Condon added that the timing of Watkins' statement -- during Super Bowl week -- was "happenstance" and that "there's not any way to get through this week without" Manning's situation "being a topic of conversation."

Condon added that Manning and Colts owner Jim Irsay would meet "soon."

"Jimmy and Peyton have had a very strong relationship for a really long period of time," Condon said.

"Everybody wants to do what's best both for Peyton and for the Colts and that's the focus."

Like one of the sportswriters Jackie on 'Around The Horn' said a week ago: "Its a divorce. There are barbs exchanged, then there is a brief period of both of them reconciling, then they go at it again, and it ends in divorce".

Both sides are to blame but I do believe it will be a divorce between Jim Irsay and peyton at the end.

Media lives on confrontation....and story-lines

Manning going back to the Colts isnt a story...

Manning getting cut is a story that will last for years...
