Colts and redskins both contacted the Bengals about the 9th pick at the combine.

That's odd.  9th pick is something you usually trade for on draft day.  If you trade up it's usually to draft a specific player and 9 is too far down to know who's going to be available prior to draft day.

My guess is that they were looking for an asking price for future reference. Seeing how much it would cost them to make the jump come draft day.

I don't even know if these backs would go before Derick Henry. And he was a 2nd rounder.  They are definitely not on Zekes level.

You really think that little of Fournette? That's just absurd

I don't think any of the backs this year are equal to Zeke's level, so no, I Wouldn't. trade up.

But for a RB like Zeke or a AP. yeah I WOULD,

only way I would is if the rest of the roster was relatively set.  otherwise, imo a first round RB is a luxury.

Just my opinion brotha. I don't like his play style at all. I don't even think he'll have an impressive season if he doesn't go somewhere with a great o-line. Henry was also a huge RB, and also ran an impressive 40 for his size.

I seen mychal Kendricks could be cut if he can't be traded I'd love to trade for him it would be cheaper imo but I'd love him here either way

I think getting him after being cut would be cheaper. We'd get to keep our pick, and let our cap guy handle his new contract.

(Edit) On second thought, if he's released take a chance on him. I don't want to draft picks.

I'd be fine with trading a 5th for him.  He's only 26 and likely better than anyone we'd pick up in the 5th round.

I actually think it'd probably be cheaper to get him in a trade.  Looking at his contract, and considering I dont' think we'd be on the hook for his bonuses, I think he'd be cheaper by trading for him than having to start with a whole new contract.

I can't help but feel the potential Trent Cole level of bust possibility with this guy.

cole was a very different situation.  He was past his prime on the downside of his career. He was signed hoping there was still a little gas left in the tank but he didn't.  Kendricks is in just hitting his prime.

He will get more tho as a free agent then his current deal

I don't know if he would. Draft is deep with LBs, and he's had a rough go of it the past few years. He only started 8 of the 15 games that he played for Philly last year, and has never had a full 16 game season. He makes Dwayne Allen look like the perfect bill of health.

I think he'd get more as a FA.

He's got 3 years and 18 million on his current deal.    So, we get that and don't have to give hm a signing bonus.

I think Ballard might not want to get into a bidding war for Kendricks.     A 5 isn't a big offer.     Fair exchange.

Is it?  With Inside LBs?  I've only heard 3 or 4 names commonly brought up in terms of quality ILBs in this draft.

I'm surprised at how many people would like this signing. I was fully prepared to get blasted for sharing that tweet in here.

I've said all of season I'd trade for him very underrated ILB getting him back into a 3-4 will be great too. At first thought it woukd take a 4th but I'd do a 5th all day everyday
