The more and more I hear him speak, the more and more I feel good about him being GM. He legitimately sounds like he knows what he's doing. He sounds confident that he'll turn this team around. For the first time in almost 2 in a half seasons I'm actually excited and looking forward to a colts upcoming season.

Well, except for when he said he wasn't ready to be a GM, but he'll figure it out.  LOL.

He does, and honestly, I can appreciate a guy who says that.  No one is ever really ready for their job when they get it, new job or promotion.  There's always going to be things you will have to figure out as you go when you take on responsibilities you've never had to answer for before.  It tells me he's honest not only with us, but with himself, and that's important for any job where you have to learn at least some things along the way.   

 

Throw in the fact that he's reportedly working well with Grigson, his philosophy, even if your typical GM speak, is good (at least not off the wall), and some of the things Irsay said about him, its hard not to be excited.

We'll find out about his speed/agility soon enough.  If I had my way, if it came down to him or Mixon in the 4th round, I'd go with Mixon. 

I wouldn't.  Just read another report that he was evicted from his apartment for not paying rent. ( almost $700) 3 days before he fractured 4 bones in that girl's face.  That's not being immature, that's being a bad person.

To be fair, I think we all know that he's a bad person based on the whole "fractured 4 bones" incident... I agree completely with that assessment...

I don't think his eviction really adds anything to that, though. You can be evicted without being a bad person at all, imo.

Yeah but those incidents are 3 years ago.. nobody knows his character now present day, except for the people interviewing him.

Totally agree.  If you are in a court of law though, evidence is building against his character and after all, that's what Chris Ballard has to do.   Question his character.  He said the team will be watching how he handles David Parry, so that is a telling sign that he will take it seriously.

True, but Polian used to have a fancy saying that a player's history can be indicative of his future. Probably why he didn't draft very many guys with these kinds of issues.  If you watch someones tape and they are talented but lazy, you don't draft them because their history is that they are lazy.   If there is a young man who is evicted for not paying his rent and 3 days later he hits a woman so hard she is knocked out, then why do you believe he is sorry.  Maybe the lazy player says he is sorry too.  Honestly, I think he is saying whatever he needs to say.  My gut tells me he has issues and I choose not to forgive him, but rather discipline.  However, I know that he will be a millionaire one day and I bet he does it again cause he got away with it.   Just my opinion.

The fact he stayed out of trouble for 3 years is telling though. (Besides ripping up a parking ticket) I can't stand not even looking at prospects because they had a "bad" past. That is just ignorant, this is the NFL and you get playmakers when they are there. Thankfully our GM thinks similarly. Tyreek Hill.

You see, bad is bad and good is good.  That's how they got their names.  When you start treating bad like it's good and good like it's bad, then that's bad. You reward the bad as if he is good.  Why not reward the good and discipline the bad?  If you do that, then the bad starts acting good and  gets rewarded too. And that's good.
