I know the Patriots are not well liked on here, but what they have done is nothing short of amazing. This is Bill's and Brady's 7th Super Bowl appearance! That is absolutely astounding. They deserve major props.

So, congratulations to the Patriots and their fans; I hope you guys get molliwopped by the Falcons!

I wanna congratulate them but I just can't their fans are so bloody arrogant go on NFL.com and read any comments they're already talking about how they're going to destroy Atlanta and it will be done by half. I hope Matty ice can pull it out he's played so well all year I'm worried about that team though just being so happy to just be there since it's a lot of their first Super Bowls and what like the patriots 100th trip lmao

This. Pats fans are literally the worst fans out there.

But I am impressed by what Belichick has done. He is the real reason this team is successful. Without Brady the pats were still 3-1 this year and 11-5 the other year. You cannot be considered the greatest of all time if your team can go 14-6 without you, let alone MVP.

This!! It's totally ridiculous how wide open their receivers get all the time.  That's because of great coaching and game planning, not Brady.  Brady is good but without the Hoodie he'd be an above average NFL qb without the rings

Man that's how you scheme receivers open  my god..I remember the days when Peyton had us looking that good lol..Congrats to Brady guy really is top of the position and what I love about that team on offense when Brady gets pressured often (Texans game)  they simply run hurry up till the defense is tired and slows it back up unlike us sigh

It really is amazing what they have done in NE.  I think Brady is very good, don't get me wrong, but that team turned when Belichik came to town.  They had already been to a Superbowl in '96 but lost to Favre and the Packers, even though Parcells was the HC and Belichik was the asst HC.  Brady was the man to get them "over the hump".  But to me, with the defenses they have always had, Belichik is the straw that stirs that drink, and as long as he is there I think they will always be competing for Superbowls even after Brady retires.  BB is going to go down as the best ever HC/GM, and Brady probably as the best QB, even though I don't necessarily agree with the latter.

The Colts would do well to take some notes and start building that defense!  That is the key IMHO.

When Deflategate first happened everyone was against them. Than after a few months almost everyone was for them eventhough they clearly cheated. Since that has happened the Colts have had bad luck and the Pats have had most people behind them on the subject. Why I have no freakin clue? I guess those people are scientist's experts and think the integrity of the game doesn't matter lmao and love the fact someone would have cell phone destroyed during an investigation. Some people and media seem to have 0 problem with that for some reason.

Dude, we sucked and deserved to lose that game.  Goodell messed that whole thing up.  That's why everyone swept it under the rug

I have always believed Deflategate was a make up move by Goodell for his failure during Spygate, much like George W. Bush Jr. went after Saddam Hussein with the bogus WMD case for a job his Dad did not finish. :)

I bet Donald Trump attends the SB, he loves Belichick and Brady. :)

Congrats to the Pats indeed!!! No easy task, what they accomplish year after year!!! Brady throws the ball like he is 29, not 39 and props to his training methods and Alex Guerrero, his business partner and trainer too.

Honestly, I could care less about the Patriots. I think they win too much.. but oh well so does Alabama, Yankees, LeBron James, UConn Lady Huskies. So you naturally you root for them to lose. But if they win its not really a big deal. My Saltiness and rage comes strictly from Tom Brady. How many years did we have to lose to the "Patriots" and we heard "Peyton" can't beat "Brady". Ever since then it's been pure salt. Sure Brady made Peyton stall at the 1 yard line 4 straight times... Brady picked off Peyton in the AFCCG 4 times.. I never understood how he took credit for winning games with an "average" stat line. Now he has gotten better, I'm not negating that. But it's clear any and everybody on that team is interchangeable.. I mean come on Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallet were actually considered prospects on this team. Brady goes down or misses action and they still are the same team. Why is this man still getting all the accolades? Heck, I could be the QB for the Patriots...

I'll probably get torn up for this post... but am I wrong?

The part of the Patriots team that doesn't get the respect they deserve is the DEFENSE. They held the Steelers to 9 points till the game was well in hand and pretty much over.

True. Belichick goes and gets utility guys like Kyle Van Noy etc. after trading away Jamie Collins so that he can mix and match, he has slowly made the front 7 formidable without many stars.

I am just surprised, that seeing how much the Pats rotate guys, teams have not gone no huddle against them more often. Peyton would have done that in an instant. :)

Plus, once Jamie Collins is in coverage, Peyton went to JT in the 2013 AFCCG and Owen Daniels twice for TDs in 2015 AFCCG against him knowing Jamie gets turned around in coverage. Hence I was not surprised when Belichick traded him. I was just surprised Big Ben did not use Jesse James more, much like Flacco used Boldin against you guys. That intermediate option with sure hands is what can hurt the Patriots. Chung is good but not Rodney Harrison good in coverage vs good TEs.

He tried gonto Jesse James, but Jesse dropped at least 2 passes and well didn't get open very often. (I mean it wasn't like Big Ben was running for his life all game lol. The Pats just had good coverage and forced tough throws.)

as for Chung he has played light years better the second time around for the apats, he couldn't cover crap when he first time in NE.

Yeah, I remember that, especially in 2009-2012 the first time around how the Pats safety play was exploited.

Do you really believe that a part of the reason that they are so successful is because they cheat, or were you speaking tongue-in-cheeck?

I just believe that cheating is in the New England DNA. I'm not saying they need it. I'm just saying they can't help themselves. It's an addiction.

The urge to cheat has apparently spread from Belichick and Brady to the Patriots' fans. There must be something toxic in the water in New England....

When I think about the Patriots I am reminded of the many movies about the Roman conquerors over hapless masses that can only kneel to the victors and Belichick is sitting on the throne with one of those gold leaf things on his head. "Hail Ceaser"!  You have to wonder  if and when this will ever end.

Nah, it's untainted this time. Peyton was injured last year and missed a few games. He was just paying for what he did a couple years ago.

He played great this year, I know it was very tough but he had to get all the way past:

Cody Kessler

Andy Dalton

Landry Jones

Tyrod Taylor

Russel Wilson (lost)

Colin Kaepernick

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Jared Goff

Joe Flacco

Trevor Siemian

Bryce Petty

Matt Moore

I don't know how anybody can make it through that gauntlet and capture home field advantage.

    • Yeah... Richardson needs players who can separate and who can get open deep. IMO "give the inaccurate QB a contested catch receiver with large catch radius" is one of the tropes that hasn't proven to work well. Contested catches have about 50-55% success rate even with the best of contested catch receivers and with relatively accurate QBs... now if you think AR's accuracy is not good, drop that rate even more. The best way to give a relatively inaccurate QB better chance to complete passes is to give him a WR who separates and and who is open so the QB would have more of a margin for error to throw the ball a little behind or ahead or a little higher or lower than ideal. (we are not talking about uncatchable balls here... those will be uncatchable for anyone really). In that regard, one thing I would agree about is - we need WRs who have good hands and have good ball skills.   And this is ignoring that AR has indeed been pretty good with his accuracy on passes at intermediate and long range. His biggest problem coming into the league was the short stuff and he was already showing improvements in that deparment before he got injured.    And Worthy is the WR who created the most separation from anybody in this draft :
    • Richardson  accuracy  on deep balls is his strength.  Hence why you pair an elite deep threat in worthy.
    • No.   You weren’t.   If you were the least bit sincere, we’d be having these conversations in private.  But you’ve repeatedly ignored my efforts to do that.  Your call.      Then you avoid me until I’m in an uncomfortable conversation with another poster.   You use that awkward moment as an excuse for you to come in with some sincere friendly advice.   The problem is, you’re neither sincere, nor friendly.  And you’ve been doing this for months now.  This is not new.   The pattern is clear and obvious.     And the shame of it all is that even with our different views on Ballard we have enough in common that we should be friendly.  Maybe not friends, but friendly.  You wouldn’t need to address me as “Sir.”    “Good deed going unpunished”.  You flatter yourself.     But your actions speak much louder than your words.   There’s no reason for me to trust you.  And here we are.  A real shame.
    • In a year when the Colts were in serious need of a QB and in position to draft one, Ballard came up in front of the media 3 days before the draft and straight up said something to the effect of "That guy everybody in media is talking about(Levis), we are not taking him". I don't know why you think the Colts are trying to throw us off the scent this year specifically. They are not trying to give us away the pick(thus the vagueness), but I also don't really think they are trying to mislead anybody. This usually becomes specifically apparent in retrospect after the draft when you look back at a lot of those quotes in the videos they release pre-draft... and they were talking precisely about players we ended up drafting, which they reveal in the post-draft video by extending some of those quotes(they did that with AR last year for example).    And about why people are doing it(guessing who they are talking about) - because it is fun. Nobody has the illusion that we will be right in our guesses 100% of the time... or anywhere close really... but it's still fun. And it's part of why the Colts release those videos with those quotes - to create engagement with the fanbase... part of which, and the entirety of which that 70 pages thread and whole board is about in the offseason. is to guess who the Colts might take and how they might feel about specific prospects.
