Only thing I don't like is he's kind of short, but there's been successful backs at 5'9".  He's got good weight though at 215.   Actually I think Gore is 5'9"

Krunk.....

It looks like you're saying Gallman is 5'9".....     that's the player you were responding to in this post.

But Gallman is not 5'9:"      He's closer to 6'1".

So,  I'm wondering who you have him mixed up with?

I think Fournette and Cook are both great.     But for being a complete back,  I'll take Elliott, thanks much.

By the way,   both Fournette and Cook have a history of injury issues.     Both will have to be checked out completely by medical staffs.      They are NOT nearly as clean as the comments in this thread would have you believe.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was an early run on RB either.

Yeah, I think so too.  I was hoping for Fournette or Cook but if it is McCaffrey that's okay too.  We will have a much better idea tomorrow night.  We will sign our ER in FA and another starting defender.  Everyone thinks there are a lot of good defenders so we can wait till the second.  Just saw a mock showing Fournette to us, Cook to the Ravens, McCaffrey to the Patriots all in the 1st.

I think anyone would take Elliott right now he is a proven comodity in the NFL, that's not saying much...Doesn't mean Cook , Fournette, or both couldn't be better...

It's scary what kind of monster Belichik would turn McCaffery into, perfect player for them..That is a match made in heaven..Hope it doesn't happen for Colts sake..It would be a hard decision but id have to take Fournette over Cook too even though Cook fits us better..Can't go wrong either way, but Fournette is Bo Jackson you take Bo Jackson if he is there..

Yes,  they might be better.     But that's a maybe.

But I'd take Elliott based on his two seasons at Ohio State.      I think his two years there were better than either Fournettes or Cooks.

Elliott has set the bar way up there.     It'll be a high bar to clear.

Fournette is a freak...6-1 235, 4.35 forty, pure rb wise he is the best thing since AP...Cook is a much better receiving threat though...There is no wrong choice..

We'll see if Fournette runs anything close to that at the Combine.     I have my doubts.

And my knit-picking with them is more concern over their medicals than anything else.

If they check out healthy,  and we love them,  I'll be OK if the Colts draft them.

I'm not disagreeing with you on the above, but the college careers of Cook and Elliott differ by the finest of hairs. The last two years for each:

Cook: 574 touches, 4188 yards, 40 tds

Elliott: 617 touches, 4125 yards, 41tds

You could make an argument either way on level of competition, but both have been equally impressive from a production perspective.

Kamara from Tennessee. Just realizing this as I'm watching Clemson. Gallman is 6'1" or 6'0"

Yes....   if Kamara can stay healthy,  I love the kid.     He's got superior 0-to-60 acceleration.    Looks like a Porsche to me!        Not sure he's an every down back in the NFL or a change of pace guy.    But that kid can seriously play.

Love him.    As of today,  3rd round for me.

Gallman is getting shutdown by Ohio State kind of disappointing....

I wouldn't let one game influence your opinion on a prospect. I'm more impressed by McMillan than I am discouraged by Gallman in this game. Lots of talent on the field.

I'm surprised Ohio State is getting dogged like this

Barrett is not that great of a passer, they just don't have the playmakers on offense...OSU is tough on defense though,  gotta give Clemson credit. ..Clemson vs Alabama is gonna be a nasty defensive game..

Yeah we almost have to take Cook if he's there though. He's been great since last year and capped off an incredible season this year. Garrett will be gone by our pick. We don't need any help at WR, TE, or OT. I don't think I've seen a top 15 LB yet. Cook could be BPA

We need to lose to Jags today..I can't believe Luck is playing, if we win this game and it costs us 3 or 4 spots and we miss out on Cook it is all time dumb..We deserve to suck if we r that stupid...

Hes probably gonna be gone before we pick regardless. You never know though, Colts could trade up. And also, theres usually a few players every year that fall that no one expects, maybe Cook falls for some reason. I would be very happy to get him.

Regardless of draft position, there is still no reason to play top guys in the last game of the season that's meaningless. ..With Colts luck Hilton or Luck will tear an ACL. ..No point in the risk..You have a better chance picking 12 than 16 of getting a blue chip player as well..

The more I watch him, the more he looks like a pre-acl injury Edgerrin James..He has big play ability and rare power...If he is there in the 1st we have to take him..I like him for our offense even better than Fournette because of his pass catching ability...He will be our 3 down FRANCHISE back and make our offense unstoppable..

I really want Cook in RD 1 as well. The guy has been getting a lot of attention lately and I have a feeling he may go inside the top 10. If the Colts lose to Jacksonville tomorrow we could potentially pick somewhere between 10-13 and have a true realistic shot at landing this kid. If we win later on today then I think he goes before we pick, which will probably be somewhere between 14-18. In that case, we take defense.

That's basically how I feel. If Cook is there you take him. If not, I'd start looking at defense. Charles Harris, Jabril Peppers, Malik McDowell, Takkarist McKinley.

Then you take Cook.  That's why Bell and David Johnson > Elliot.

Colts need to improve their Defense. BPA is always a dumb decision you go with the best available player at a position of need and the Colts can't afford to ignore the Defense again. Thats how you improve otherwise you always will be left with some big holes. I would go Defense in the first three rounds. You can find a decent RB later in the draft.

That's right BPA in a position of need.  And that player could easily be RB at pick 14 or 15.   RB is definitely a position of need.  We tried to fill it with Trent and  and an aging Gore because none of our draft picks have worked out.  I have seen Fournett and Cook both rated in the top 10 so we shall see.

We need to do whatever it takes to draft Dalvin Cook. If the cost is multiple future draft picks, than this to be made. Whatever it takes. We haven't had a dynamic RB since Edgerrin James, and this was over a decade ago. Cook is special, and would make our offense unstoppable. #allinforDalvinCook

    • Looking at OTC now.  Seems like we may have around 10-12M cap space left to go after players in FA.  Do the Colts sign I player or break it down to a few small signings.  Still seeing who is available and limited on time.  Still am high on WR Quez Watkins and seeing the Dolphins are also interested in him.  Watkins played under Shane and figured he would be one of his targets in FA.     Both SS, assuming Cross is the starter, but FS is main focus and probably in the draft.   Not sold one too many true FS from college and sure you seen prior post about how slow these CBs are and a move to FS probably best for their career in the NFL.  Especially Khyree Jackson who has a lot of the overall skill set of Cooper DeJean and might be a viable option later in the draft.
    • I’d like Crossby!   I really like Mitchell, but I just don’t see more youth being a good thing for our CB room. Even if the Sneed thing is made up I still think we should go for a vet.    I hope we can get Cooper in the 2nd. I’d prefer a WR (or Bowers) at 15, but right now I think we’re looking at DE.    Powers-Johnson looks greats, but of all the things we could do I think OL is probably the least likely at 15.    Lots of needs. Safety is probably the biggest, but I don’t think any of them are worth the 15th overall.
    • @Solid84   Still holding out hope we trade our R1P15 to LV for Maxx Crosby give them draft capital to move up for their QB.    If we sit at P15, draft CB Quinyon Mitchell.  Latest report seen was the Colts haven't even talked trade for Sneed.  False news, who knows, time will tell?    If Mitchell is gone before P15 then see a trade back and draft WLB Edgerrin Cooper or OL Jackson Powers-Johnson.
    • I like it overall, but I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell we're drafting Kinchens after his atrocious Combine. With a RAS of 2.27 he's not even a blip on Ballard's radar lol.
    • Sorry late to the party line chat on Page 57 of 94   Skyy Moore, deleted that draft class and notes but Moore seemed to have some potential but wasn't sold on him.  Viewed Moore as an average receiver not much more.  I wouldn't trade for him.   If you were looking to trade for any WR, I would suggest targeting the Packer's Dontayvion Wicks.    As for some of these other comments that I have read up and not going to ready through 30 pages.  Colts spent 200M on most of their own (top NFL) players,    Recent news I saw is that the Colts haven't had any communication talks about trading for Sneed.  How true that is or not to be seen.  Seems the Colts have done a lot spending 200M on their own and doubt we have much cap space left to sign a big-name player like Sneed.  Still haven't seen latest cap space figures since our latest signing.     The Colts build through the draft and those expectations will not change this season.  Again, our organization was lucky enough to sign some of our best positional players.  Sadly, not everyone can get resigned and do expect Blackmon to move on.  Latest rumor is Blackmon signs with the Bills.
