Maris cannot be among the top four. Mattingly before Maris.

Other Yankees legends:

Munson

Reggie

Ricky Henderson

Mariano

Any pitchers??

The one that pitched the perfect game in the playoffs?

Whitey Ford?

Dave Righetti?

Whitey Ford was great

My alltime Yankees top 4 would have to include Ford and this Man  http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gehrilo01.shtml

Out of LIKES. Yeah the Yankees have had so many damn greats that doing their MtRushmore you are going to have at least 5 or 6 players get snubbed. 27 Championships is also comical.

I did not realize that he was born in NYC. He hit .340 for his career. Great player who would have gotten more than 3000 hits had he not gotten that awful, awful condition named after him, Lou Gerhrig's disease or ALS.

The thing is we have to choose 4 because only 4 can be chose and choosing for the Yankees is really almost impossible. So far Cubs would be Banks/Santo/Williams/Sandberg it looks like. Mets would be Seaver/Piazza/Strawberry/Gooden. Jay what was your final 4 with the Cards?

Lol same boat its impossible

Matheny needs to get his lineup set and quit trying to keep everyone happy. IMO Sierra should be recalled , he brings a spark with that speed and is a good hitter . Bring the kid back up. Speed never slumps , its always there.

Martinez pithed a good game in Coors field giving up 2 in 7 and 1/3 , but when you don't score runs its hard to win. The Rockies earned it on Defense there were several great eye popping plays to rob the Cards hitters my hats off to them , because it kept them in control.
