Just wanted to let everyone know I still feel healthy, just working a lot. Hozer and I miss doing play by play of Cubs games on here and commenting on the games. Everything will be back to normal soon

I just got an anonymous call on my phone which I usually don't answer when I don't see a number I recognize. I answered it and the person said SOX and hung up.  I have no clue who it was

As most of you know, I'm a Cardinals fan.  But you don't know that at one time I was a Cubs fan.  This was in the early 1980's while I was in college and got cable TV.  Our TV provider had WGN and sin

Cardinals have been quiet at the trade deadline so far.  1 hour left, I think.

I'm fine with them staying put if the alternative is giving up prospects for 2 months of a player.

That is why I have the moves the Cubs have made

Getting Derek Holland for Cash David Phelps for Tom Hatch and  Tony Kemp for Mike Montgomery(Martin Maldonado) not to mention signing Craig Kimbrel

Cubs just made a splash

Get Nick Castellanos from Detroit for Paul Richan and Alex Lange

Thanks for the update. I have to be honest, I know nothing about any of those 3. Cards look like they are staying pat, I don't blame them. They are the best team in the division as of now in the division.

Cubs make another move before the deadline....Carl Edwards Jr. Traded to Padres for LHP Brad Wieck. It’s to bad Edwards couldn’t get it together after his injuries, maybe a change of scenery will help him out.

That is the advantage of being a stat guy

a one game lead means nothing especially when the two teams made moves

The Cards are not the Yankees or Dodgers

Struck him out! Cubs win 2-0. Kimbrel closes. Order has been restored and the Cubs and Cards are both tied for 1st in the NL Central once again at 57-50. Fly the flag Hozer.

Heading into August 1st, both the Cubs and Cards are 57-50 tied for 1st in the NL Central. If we can keep it within a game or 2 until Hamels and Zobrist gets back, who knows what may happen. We are missing 2 very important players right now. I trust Hamels as much as I do Lester or Hendricks. That is how important he is. Zobrist is a veteran leader that knows how to win. August baseball is here now folks, buckle up and get ready.

6-0 Cards. We won 1 game of the 3 so I will take it since it was there. Only 1 game out of 1st place still. Matt (Johnny Bench) Weiters hit a 3 run HR haha . He has only hit 8 HR's all year. Typical series but we did win 1 so it's all good. I guess we got stinky Jonny instead of good Jonny tonight.

Hey we do have 1 hit at least against a guy that wasn't won since May :funny:

We should never lose when Jon Lester is pitching against Jack Flaherty is why I am making sarcastic posts. All in all I thought we would only 1 game of the 3. I am ok with that, I just didn't want to get swept and be 3 back. Usually if they play at Wrigley we win 2 of 3 and they do the same at St. Louis. I thought maybe we could turn the tide but NAH lmao

Cubs have been playing some very uninspiring baseball lately. Base hits, all you need, not this crap. Unreal.

This team seems content too much. We won a huge game last night so they took tonight off lmao . Cubs have been like that this since after we won the WS.

    • I hear you, but my gut says if you don’t see a guy that instantly shows you he can be great, you probably don’t take him in the 1st (at least as it pertains to QB’s).    Plus I feel like a lot of what he has we’ve seen before. The guy who isn’t special but is efficient. That screams Mitchell Trubisky, Blake Bortles, Brandon Weeden, Jake Fromm, etc...   Now he’s playing at a higher level than those guys did in college, but he also has a ton of talent around him. Also let’s not forget about the season Dwayne Haskins had his final year. And Haskins also lacked a stand out trait. Elite college production isn’t a trait.
    • It would say not injury related like it says with Houston if it was exposure. This is exactly what happened with Autry before he got put on the list. They most likely have symptoms and are just waiting for it to show up on a test like Autry. I hope though it’s not covid related but it seems it is.
    • For what it’s worth...    Regarding Rivers’ injury, if it’s indeed “turf toe” — and it’s not clear that’s what it is — but if it is, that’s one of the worst injuries a player can get.   Players say it’s among the most painful injuries you can get.   They often describe it as like “walking on broken glass” with sharp, shooting pain.   “Turf toe” doesn’t sound bad, but it is.     So let’s hope PR’s injury is some other type of toe injury and not turf toe.
    • We don’t  know if Blackmon and Rock have or were exposed to COVID. Until the Colts put them on the COVID/reserve list like Buckner its just speculation.  Definitely a compliment. Lol
    • These statements are essentially the exact same things word for word that were said about Quincy Wilson.    Intercepted Rodgers and then what happened on the very next defensive drive? He had a 51 yard DPI that resulted in points for the Packers. Back to back weeks with a PI call. There’s still 6 games to play too. He had 8 penalties last year, and right now he’s at 4.    Being a 2nd round pick comes with certain expectations regardless of the position. Especially considering he was awarded a starter spot. That also comes with expectations.
