Just wanted to let everyone know I still feel healthy, just working a lot. Hozer and I miss doing play by play of Cubs games on here and commenting on the games. Everything will be back to normal soon

As most of you know, I'm a Cardinals fan.  But you don't know that at one time I was a Cubs fan.  This was in the early 1980's while I was in college and got cable TV.  Our TV provider had WGN and sin

I just got an anonymous call on my phone which I usually don't answer when I don't see a number I recognize. I answered it and the person said SOX and hung up.  I have no clue who it was

Yu pitched well for a while and even had the crowd behind him but couldn't hold the lead. This is looking bad, Cubs down 3-1 to the 8th. Jake is going get the win unless we come up with something in the last 2 innings.

This is what you and Hozer feared: a matchup between Yu and Jake.

Cubs lose. Nonsense Umps. When you are at home and a player check swings where it is close, you should get that call. Cubs got screwed but have to move on, it's only 1 game.

That was an absolute nonsense call, :censored2:

Yeah in a 162 game season you are always going to have a handful of games where the UMPs are bad. I still think out of Baseball, Football, and Basketball, Baseball is the best officiated sport since out and safe calls became reviewable but last night the Cubs got jobbed. Hopefully they can put this in their rare view mirror and get a win tonight.

Another tough loss unless we rally in the 9th. Down 2-1. This series has been full of bad luck so far :wall:, then our announcers keep calling the Phillies player Fronco lmao . It is spelled Franco. I guess Fronco Harris won 4 SB's with the Steelers and Chopman, not Chapman was the man in 2016 for the Cubs. Missing El Mago has hurt a bit.

El Mago delivers, Cubs win. Fly the flag Hozer. This makes up for last night's nonsense.

So far counting this season = last 5 seasons (2015-2019), the Cubs have won more games than all teams + won a WS in 2016 in that timeframe. I guess the haters can go suck eggs come GIF. The goal now is to win another WS to prove we can do it twice. I am enjoying this season very much as the Cubs look really focused so far after starting 2-7. Long way to go but this is reminding of 2016 a bit.

    • I would go with QB especially if Fields is still on the board.
    • I thought I'd make a thread about following some news and discussing some of the prospects in their games this season. This is for things that don't raise to the level requiring its own thread...    I am starting this with this little piece of news:   Minnesota is kind of heavy on NFL prospects this year, especially offensively:  - Rashod Bateman, WR - Tanner Morgan, QB - Daniel Faalele, OT  - Mohamed Ibrahim, RB - Brevyn Spann-Ford, TE     On the other hand Michigan has some interesting defensive prospects so this would be a good matchup to watch: - Kwity Paye. EDGE - Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE - Cameron McGrone, LB - Joshua Ross. LB - Ambry Thomas, CB - Carlo Kemp. DT - Nico Collins, WR - Ronnie Bell, WR - Nick Eubanks, TE - Jalen Mayfield, OT
    • There are situations that call for “predictable” plays to be called: 4th and 1, qb sneak, running down the clock when you have the lead, 3rd and long, pass, etc.    Have you forgotten the 7step drop mentality that got Andrew Luck killed and influenced his early retirement? I’ll take Reich over that, any day!    I have to disagree that Reich isn’t creative (I’m assuming that’s the point of your comment). I would agree that he’s still learning and has made some calls, he’d like to have back (the pass to big Q).     We don’t know how many of those failed calls were to bad execution, like the run on 4th and 2 in the Jacksonville game, which failed in part, due a missed block.    We look at the result and assume it was solely on the coach.    Even if a play is predictable, If it succeeds because they see something (even though the other team knows it’s coming), isn’t that good play calling.     In Philadelphia, a lot of fans recognize Reich as a huge part of their 2017 success and see a big contrast in him and what they have now. IMO he’s an above average play caller that is getting better.
    • Because a portion of current Colt fans were born into their fandom with a Manning pacifier in their mouth.
    • No thanks. Ertz wants a new deal and Alshon is always hurt.   There are younger TEs that I would be targeting via trade.
