Players Vs. The Media: Whom Do You Believe More?

It's funny; most of the Colts players and even Aaron Rodgers keep saying that a co-existence between Peyton and Luck can/will work.

This is Gary Bracketts interview today

But every single media personality has already shipped Peyton out of town.

So are the players just being politically correct and not wanting to say anything bad about the "Peyton Situation" or do you trust that they have a better sense of things than outside media personalities?

And a side note: I never realized how much Gary looked like Jim Caldwell. They could be father/son lol

Honestly, I try not to get into the hype much. I figured, I know what is the truth, when it officially comes out. You can speculate all you want, some people will be right, others won't be. Things get leaked and you can't control them, but others are just people looking for attention.

The media want to twist, exaggerate and fabricate to make a good story to sell papers and gain interest as they give opinions from the perspective as an outsider.

The players don't make money off giving their opinions, nor do they want to make something seem a bigger deal than it is. They are experiencing it themselves.

I'll take the view of the player any day.

I dont think its personality/ego problem as much as money/salary cap problem.

While not an ideal situation, spending ~23m in cap on QBs is a very workable situation capwise.

EDIT - So actually there is no issue with having both QBs (assuming Manning/Luck) on the same roster, regarding ego or cap hit. The real issue is Manning's health, as Irsay has already said. In fact I do not even think Irsay has said Manning has to be 100% by Mar 8th, he just needs to show by Mar 8th that he will be ready for the start of the season..... so who knows what that actually means.

the media does little more than speculate and sensationalize anymore. They spend big bucks just testing words and phrases that they hope will get the biggest response, just like politicians. Most players say what's safe, they're trained to deal with the media.
