Yeah no draft pick is a guarantee. But I think thinking you can address a position group without spending high round picks or big money is absurd. Either you draft a guy in the first 3-4 rounds or you pay big money for one. And chances are the guy you're bringing in from FA was probably a high round pick to begin with. The Cowboys have 4 starters on the O-line drafted in the first 4 rounds.

Is that what you meant to say?

LT:   T. Smith,  1st round

LG:  L. Collina,   FA,  but projected 1st round pick   (Currently hurt)

C:    T. Frederick    1st round

RG:   Z. Martin       1st round

RT:    D. Free          4th round

Basically,   when all are healthy,   that's an OL with FOUR 1ST round picks.      That's, in part,  why Zeke Elliott is so tremendous.      It helps to have the best OL in football to run behind.

True. But the guy who's playing in place of Collins was drafted 3rd or 4th as well. Forget his name atm.

But yeah fully healthy they have high picks across the board. Hopefully the Colts line is like that eventually.

I like the interior line but this is mewhort third year can we retain him after luck big contract?

Shouldn't have any trouble retaining Mewhort and Moncrief on nice contracts.  Lots of cap and nobody to retain from 2013 draft class.  We could extend both and still spend 20 to 30M on outside free agents this year.

Yes.....    Mewhort, Moncrief and Doyle get their big contracts and we still have plenty left over.

Right now we project to have roughly $50 Mill this off-season.       We won't spend $50 Mill on those three,  no matter how good they are.      They're not THAT good!      (I know you know this, ZT,  this is for others....)

This should be a fascinating off-season....
