Jackson because he seems least likely to do well in the NFL.

I'm pretty sure that's the criteria.

haha    Well, Charles Woodson did okay, now didn't he?     One of the few Defensive players ever to win it.

Jabrill Peppers, LB Michigan

Deshaun Watson, QB Clemson

Dede Westbrook, WR Oklahoma

What's everybody thinking?

Not sure.  But if I need to take a guess it will be Deshaun Watson.

The voting body's insistence on giving it to a QB Every. Single. Year. has really watered down the meaning of the Heisman Trophy to me. For an award that's supposed to go to the "best player in college football", it always goes to an offensive player somehow. If I were voting this year, I'd have it 1) Jabrill Peppers 2) Lamar Jackson 3) Westbrook 4) Mayfield 5) Watson... Just my opinion though.

My grandson would love to see Peppers win.

Derrick Henry won last year and is a runningback.

I would vote for Jabrill Peppers because he was a crazy good impactful player at multiple positions.

My guess is Deshaun Watson wins.

I'm aware of that, but I really thought that was a "meh" selection at the time. I thought McCaffrey should have won it last year. If you watch Stanford, then you know that no one player is more valuable to his team than #5 for the Cardinal.

Definitely a little East Coast bias, if McCaffrey had the season he had last year again this year with the more exposure he got on the east coast with earlier games and what not then he may have been a finalist again.

I'm a bit surprised that no running backs were candidates. The early frontrunners for the position were either injured or had a down season (Fournette and McCaffrey) but I still believe Cook should have been up there along with D'Onta Foreman and Donnell Pumphrey. I think the list should have been:

Lamar Jackson

Dalvin Cook

Jabrill Peppers

Baker Mayfield

Patrick Mahomes

Watson underwhelmed this year IMO and Westbrook had a good season but it wasn't enough to put him in this group of 5. Foreman, Westbrook, Watson, Pumphrey, and (a bit biased here, but who cares) Derrius Guice would round out my top 10 in that order.

I like Donnell Pumphrey, rushed for over 2,000 yards this year I believe.

Lamar is the youngest player to ever win the heisman. Well deserved, heck of a player that'll only get better.

Watching his speech I was smiling ear to ear because for all these young guys coming up like him and Jabrill sometimes with only one parent and then now they are in NYC for the first time as heisman finalists and Lamar winning it, it's awesome how excited they are, Lamar couldn't contain the excitement I loved it

    • Pats and Brady were what Chiefs and Mahomes are, now. Play great complementary football and know how to win close games.   Once Brady saw Mahomes go down the field to tie the game 31-31 in the 2018 AFCCG, had a chance to beat them without Mahomes touching the ball, and realized he didn’t have the team to compete with in 2019, he bolted to the loaded Bucs. Peyton and Brady played each other just 5 times in the postseason their storied 18+ year careers. They were in the same AFC.   Mahomes vs Brady was 1-2 in the AFC and his losses were a FG game and an OT game (both his rookie year) where he didn’t touch the ball. He won in 2019 at Foxboro.   In the NFC, 2-1 vs Bucs with the Mahomes loss coming with both starting tackles lost for SB in Covid season SB.   To me, it’s not about postseason success exclusively but getting there enough times, knocking the door as a SB contender enough times, hard to happen without winning the division, which we are yet to since Ballard took over.
    • Teams tend to be successful for a good while after they hit paydirt on a franchise QB.   Not that this is the only ingredient to lasting success in the NFL.  It’s not.  But it’s both the most elusive one and the most critical one.
    • If the Colts looked nearly as competent in the non-QB components of their team as the Chiefs did pre-Mahomes, you wouldn't see nearly so much criticism of Ballard. We'll see how that unfolds the rest of the season.
    • Franklin (besides the lucky fumble that the RB should've had two arms on) got WASHED all game. That dude has SUCKED 2 games in row.    You can't consistently have your safety being the leading tackler. Smh   Is Frank Reich secretly calling all these constant runs up the middle all the time?    AR was pretty bad, but it's not all on him. I really don't have a clue what the game plan was....that was really embarrassing and pathetic to watch.    I've said this 50x, but Granson shouldn't have a spot on this roster.    How in the wide world of sports is the D-Line SO bad and we have ZERO contain? Every single announcer, and analyst were saying, "Colts got ran over last game, they are going against a backup QB, how do they not sell out against the run?"   Also Matt Gay.......ummmm, what are you doing dude?? You got PAID and you aren't doing your job. If you are still overcoming the injury/surgery, let someone else kick the dang ball!     Ballard needs to do something about Gus, or Irsay needs to do something about Ballard.
