Waiting For The Description of The Opening Kickoff

What in the heck was the Three Stooges kickoff dance about. Was that designed by the same guy that came up with the two man offensive line formation last year?

I don't know what it was, and I don't think I want to.  It looked ridiculous.

 

My guess it was something thought up by Pagano that he thought would be fun and get the crowd going.

 

It was bush league.

"It was bush league" . Man what do you think about some of the stuff the Pats have done. How is Pat doing what he did "bush league", maybe they were thinking about doing on onside kick which they have done before to start a game, there is no rule saying he couldn't do what he did. Maybe he was working on his new comedy show?

Apparently Pat did something quite similar right before he jumped into the canal.

Double fake onside.  Faked it to one side, then faked it to the other.  It's probably a read-and-react type of thing.  If he runs up to the ball like he's doing an onside kick, he'll read how the return unit reacts.  If they aren't paying attention and they start to drop back before he's even kicked the ball, he'll probably onside it.  If they are paying attention and stand their ground, he probably fakes the onside and kicks it normally

That dance did me in. I had nightmare Sunday night that the Colts are lining up for a punt near the sideline once again... luckily I woke up before a player quite like Colt Anderson snapped the ball...

It was a fake onside kick to lure their blockers up. It almost worked but somebody missed a tackle at the 17 yard line.

I seriously doubt Pagano thought this up.     But I'm sure he approved it before doing it in a game.

 

This was rehearsed in practice many, many times.

Not sure what they were doing but what I can absolutely promise is that it had nothing to do with getting crowd going.  That is not anything close to accurate.

That was the stupidest thing ever seen and there has been a lot of such things with Caldwell and Chuck as coach. But this ranks way up there. Was Pat doing moves from Saturday Night Fever?

fake onsides to see if you can get the Bears and confused and out of position.  Given pats history of good onside kicks it's not a bad idea.

Fake onsides. Messes with their line ups for the return. If Pat like what he sees he might have the option to go for it.

 

All about creating uncertainty in the return men.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was a fake onside kick. It's really odd to me that so many people seem to be confused about it.

A fake onside kick? Well the Bears took possession on the fake kick on the 32 yard line. Let's file the fake onside kick in the "fake girl friend" file and move on.
