I'd love to see that. It will be a huge contrast in comparison to Caldwell just standing there, and I think players (and or fans) love to have a coach take an active role in the play-calling.

I wouldnt see why he wouldnt. I will say I lean more towards a HC that hires a OC and DC and lets them run both sides, and just looks over the process week to week and makes sure they are doing what he would do. But, if your as good as this guy, then you should get involved in the play calling.

Wow. He is a first time head coach. Why would he want to bury himself in his first year. In terms of information coming at him in the next 6 months.......he isn't just drinking from the firehose, he's drinking from the aquifer.

Why would you consider it a possitive for a head coach to do part of a co-ordinators job? That is usually either a reflection of the head coaches ego or the co-ordinators lack of competance. Caldwell "just stood there" because he was doing his game-day job. And as a good manager he trusted his sub-ordinates to do their jobs. Most of the real work is done when you don't happen to be watching them on television.
