Vontae has the ability to be a top 5 corner but does not always play like one.

Anderson is good.

Green has ability but calling him very green is a stretch after 1 game.

DQ is not good, Mathis is a shell of himself, Cole sucks, Moore isn't good, Walden not good, McGill average.

you can call me a bandwagon fan all you want. I'm just not a blind homer like you

I'm not gonna turn this thread into a personal fight between us.  I bet this D looks better when we get everyone back.

Agreed we can't go man to man with the personal we've got out there but soft zone is just inviting the slow death by the running game and the dink and dunk under.

Quite frankly whatever we do on D we're going to be up against it with so many out. Why can't people see this??

Regardless our best shot coming in was to invite a shoot out. Still not too late but we gotta get something going before half.

So I Moore is good..........NOT!

He got stiff armed on a crossing route. Not much defense for that.

22+ mins of play, we have 52 offensive yards and have given up over 200 yards on defense

We might actually be worse than new Orleans defense from last year lol

Who would you replace him with, at this point in the season?

That, I have no clue. What is going on with this %? Our players have no grit and get hurt too easily.

Can't move the ball, can't stop their offense. Yeah, we are going 0-2.

Chargers look really strong - Rivers will tear this defense apart. That's 0-3.

I guess what we're both saying is: We need to move the ball and score 30 points

where is big mouth Mike on here?.....be patient with Pagano he says...coach an GM have both had enough time to draft and DEVELOP talent.....Defense totally sucks ...DBs are a bunch of soccer players that if they ever get close enough to the opposite teams' player...they get hurt.  We pick up players past their prime and expect them to deliver, reward pieces of crap like Costanzo with huge contracts and we wonder why we suck

Agree and agree. The best Defense we could put out their today would be to keep them on the bench as much as possible but the O is stuttering again. It's maddeningly frustrating. I know we're up against Denver and they are a very very good unit, but I really do think this O has the ability to be special when it's clicking.

If/when Rex gets fired, I wouldn't mind considering him as our next DC if we part ways with Monachino.  But as of now, I think we stick with him.

Great play recognition by Butler!  Hopefully he isn't hurt too bad.  We can't have more injuries to the secondary

Wait players getting hurt is now on the DC?

Rex would let his ego in the way before accepting anything less than HC. I truly hope he goes back to it considering how he is as an HC.

Conditioning too. This is unacceptable.

Butler INT! Of course that would happen though.

Even when something good happens, we can't just get away with it at that.  We have to have an injury or something thrown in there

I've never seen injury situations like this. Every single play I'm expecting a Colt to be on the ground

I wish all of the negative Nancy posters would settle down and wait until we aren't using 5th string guys on defense. When everyone is back and if the defense is still sucking, then you can be your happy and negative self.

    • Lamb is awesome....   This is the EASIEST way to add trade value to your pick   but. Who knows if Lions will do it
    • It is still too early to predict but I hate to say as of now I have it: Cards 90-72 Brewers 88-74 Cubs 82-80 Reds 81-81 Pirates 73-89 -Cubs need to find a way to keep Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, and Contreras and add an Ace pitcher somehow, otherwise we will be around .500 IMO. We already lost Hamels. I still see the Cards being the best in the division. I picked them to win the division even last season if you guys remember. To me the Cubs were better on paper on last season than they look now.
    • It seems more logical right now that one could trade back in the 2nd rd to get Fromm.
    • I get that, but I don't think getting a blue chip prospect with player comps to Marvin Harrison is something I'd get upset about.  I also won't lose my mind if we end up sticking with Jacoby for the next year.  This is the first chance/offseason Ballard's had since the Luck retirement.  Expecting or demanding that he fix it now, or else, seems unfair to me.  I'd definitely like an upgrade, and I'd be just fine and happy if we grabbed Love in this situation (or traded back up into the first for him).  But to get Jeudy at #13 is a steal and I just find it hard to fault Ballard for jumping on that chance, if this were to happen.  We might not get the most out of him with Jacoby slinging it this year, but who says you have to take a QB before a WR?  As long as the team gets built with good/great, quality players, I'm going to be ok with it.  Just my view on it, though.
    • My worry is that without the QB who can efficiently run this offense and distribute the ball to the receivers, it doesn't matter if you get TY Hilton or prime Jerry Rice or Jerry Jeudy to line up out wide.    I would LOVE having Jerry Jeudy on this team. But what I would love even more is if we had a QB we could rely on to consistently find him. What's the point of having open receivers when the QB won't throw the ball or will bullet it over their heads? The only thing that will happen is we will get even more annoyed with the lack of offensive production.    In the absolute ideal case, IMO - teams would be lower on Jordan Love because of how raw he is and we will be able to get him with the second pick, rather than the #13 pick, thus allowing us to get a talent like Jeudy in the 1st. Unfortunately, I kind of doubt both that Jeudy lasts til 13 and that Love lasts until the end of the 1s-early 2nd.
