I'm just trying to make my pick!!

If I did my math correctly, @Footballlax31 has slightly over 3 hours remaining.  If a pick is not made in that time, I think the Panthers should be awarded William Jackson III.  The top remaining prospects are Emmanuel Ogbah, Kenny Clark, Connor Cook, and William Jackson III.  The Panthers signed Paul Soliai and re-signed Charles Johnson, so I think they're pretty solid along the DL.  They certainly don't need a QB.  I think giving them a CB makes sense, though you could argue they need another WR (Michael Thomas).  I'm all for consensus, whatever everyone else thinks makes the most sense works for me.  Another potential fit is Jason Spriggs

With just over a week left, I think it would be quicker to simply put that team on autodraft if they so elect in order to have a chance at finishing - so picks are made instantaneous with the prior GM's selection.  But with a 2 hour pick time frame, I don't really care.  If we even got close to finishing, we could just down the time to like 30 minutes with a day left or something.  I know that's not a reasonable time frame for anyone really, especially through the course of the the work week.  But if we were close to round 7 with 24 hours to go, I think that's fair for the sake of finishing the whole darn thing.

We could also do something like 3 hours for rounds 4 and 5, then 1 hour for rounds 6 and 7

Well, let's say we are lucky enough to get through Saturday and finish round 3 (ambitious, but for the sake of argument), there's 155 picks left when round 4 starts.  There's 24 hours available on each of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  On Thursday, we only have 20 hours available since the draft starts at 8pm.  That's 116 total hours.  So in order to finish the mock draft before the actual draft starts Thursday, you need to have over 1.33 Picks/Hour on average (155 Total Picks divided 116 Total hours).  And that's all without regard to the 6 hour tolling that occurs every night from midnight to 6am.

I think the time should be less than 3 hours, but it depends on what the group thinks.  It also depends on the people who may elect to put their team on autodraft.  If everyone is willing to participate, then picks have to drop to an hour or less.  If half the teams go on autodraft, then 2 hours is reasonable since the autodraft teams pick the instant the team before them drafts.

Of course, if we're just going to call it after 5 rounds, that changes the landscape of the entire discussion.

In the AFC North, you need a good defense to win.  You're facing guys like Ben Roethlisberger, Andy Dalton (who was playing at an MVP level at some points during the season last year), AJ Green, and Antonio Brown.  In addition, John Harbaugh has been a secondary/defensive backs coach at multiple times throughout his career.  Thus, we want to select a DB who has the athletic ability to keep up with elite receivers like Green and Brown, even if his technique is a bit flawed.  We're confident our head coach can help refine his technique, so long as he has the attitude to work hard and the athletic ability to work with.  Thus, the Ravens select Artie Burns, CB, Miami

Eli Manning is 35 years old.  His body can't take the hits it could take when it was 30.  We need to protect him if we're going to make another run at a Super Bowl before he retires.  We recently invested high draft picks in Pugh and Flowers, but Flowers had a lot of trouble as a rookie.  We want to bring in some more competition and depth.  Perhaps we could more Flowers to the right side and he'll be better there.  Bottom line: we need to do a better job protecting Eli Manning.  As such, the Giants select someone who actually isn't even listed on the top prospect by Fanspeak.  We take Le'Raven Clark, OL, Texas Tech

@stitches and the Bears are on the clock

I will post an updated draft board and big board momentarily

As much as I hate to admit this, you're exactly right 21. Eli's age & protecting him from unnecessary hits. Good selection there BTW.

No, SW1 isn't on the clock either; I just want Big Blue winning the NFC East again & under no circumstances Dallas. Just kidding, but not really.
