Tomorrow we will find out that Grigson has released Irsay of his duties as owner of the franchise. He say, "We have had a leak in the organization for a while, so in order to discover the leak, I made up some false stories with several people within the organization to see which false story would end up in the mainstream media. I have discovered the leak was none other than Mr. Irsay. It was not an easy decision to reach. He and I sat down and talked ball for several hours, but in the end I felt with Mr. Irsay's vision of moving forward that this was the right decision at the right time."

lmao! Best post of the day. LOL.

Gotta love today age of the social networking. On these days like this. True or not true. I don't think it is true. But its just pretty funny how this broke like wildfire. LOL. Gotta love FB and Twitter. Although I am only on FB and Google Plus. I might look into Twitter! Just to get all the breaking news. lOL

That would be a very bad practical joke. I doubt it is. I think somebody said that to him but for sure it was not anyone in the Colts organization (imo anyway) Irsay would not joke about this and I really do not believe he would tell something this huge to a celeb friend.

I am curious who 'my people' are..........really curious

Phil Wilson at IndyStar writes:

Excerpt:

A short time after Lowe’s prediction took on a new life today on Twitter, someone tweeted me to inform that an L.A. radio station had talked to someone close to Manning and that source said the NFL’s only four-time MVP was going to retire. So Lowe was probably just driving down the road in Hollywood, heard it, and tweeted it.

Twitter is fun. Takes a while to get the hang of it. Just like everywhere else, there are people tweeting things that are not remotely interesting.....

I cannot get the hang of google plus.

Facebook kind of drives me crazy

Went to school with Rob's dad, Chuck. That was in a small town in Indiana. Chuck prolly has some roots there still.

NFL32 was talking about it a bit ago ... I guess Lowe is indeed a huge fan and is pals with Irsay and is often seen at a games in the box. Makes Coffeedrinkers scenario seem much more realistic .... YIKES!

Maybe this is another strategy from Grigson regarding saying one thing so media spreads a false report, then doing the exact opposite. Grigson is on a mission to make the media look incompetent. Even though Lowe is not part of the media, if other media outlets pick up on this, the joke will be on them.

Good Thing: Not knowing who Rob Lowe is.

Bad Thing: How old it makes me feel that you don't know who Rob Lowe is.

Whew......... Much better. That's very cool to follow a US sport from over there. I'm a fan of the Sheffield Wednesday (England) soccer team, but it never occured to me to try and communicate with their local fans. I wouldn't be able to carry on a conversation - and they speak the same language as me!

Personally I didn't like any of his old movies. He was known in the 80s as being a teen idol. In other words, the girls loved him, but he wasn't anywhere talented enough to justify all the attention he got. Just a pretty boy.

Maureen (moderator) likes him as an actor for his recent work if I remember correctly. He is on the tv show Parks and Recreation at the moment, and he apparently has a good sense of humor about his ridiculous image from his youth. You can't blame him for how others looked at him then ......................... but that doesn't mean that I want to look at him now. :P OR get breaking Colts news from him. Just ridiculous.

Yes he would since it would help him in everyday life.

It wasnt that kind of surgery, it was a career saving surgery. Had he retired last year he most likely would not have gotten it done and allowed it to recover naturally. It wasnt a surgery that he had to get done regardless of playing or not only one that would allow him to play football for a longer time then he otherwise would have been able to.

So why do you find it hard to believe he would retire now? There are no guarantees with any kind of surgery and his progress sure has been slower than most people imagined. A lot of it is out of his hands and in Mother Nature's hands.

The surgery was needed to take pressure off the nerve. Time and rest would not do that. Its something he's been dealing with for years.

Sure, but he doesnt retire a week into the offseason. IF he does retire this year it would be around training camp time id imagine. If he thought by that time that he still wouldnt be able to play for some time then he could call the quits. But not with months left on his rehabbing/conditioning program. The only way that would happen is if he lost his love for the game, which obviously has not happened yet.

I know - it's Rob Lowe, but thought I'd share...

RobLowe Rob Lowe

Hearing my fave, #18 Peyton Manning will not return to #NFL. Wow. #Colts

RobLowe Rob Lowe

@richeisen My people are saying Manning will retire today. What do you hear? #NFL

RobLowe Rob Lowe

#Colts fans, let's hope my info is wrong. Don't like being wrong, but this time... I'm hoping #NFL #Manning

There is no chance this is true, Peyton is not enen seeing his specialist until 1st week of March if I remember correctly, any sort of decision like this would come some time after that, and knowing Peyton a few 2nd opinions from other specialists.

But with that type of injury if the nerve does not heal thyself there is nothing anyone can do. Perhaps late last season the doctors told him that the nerve is not going to heal, he tried throwing the ball and it felt okay so he's been working for the last few weeks to build his strength back up and now that he has his strength back is finding that the nerve damage is just really hampering his throws too much to be competitive? Now saying that is what IS happening, just a possibility.

I pinched a nerve in my neck in high school wrestling and still, many years later, have very little feeling in my ring finger because of it. Manning's nerve damage was much worse than mine.
