Boom Herron now a Free Agent?

According to Stampede Blue,  the Colts did NOT tender Herron an offer,  which according to the writer -- Josh Wilson -- makes Herron a free agent.

 

Now,  I don't know if this is true,  but our handling of Boom has always been a mystery to me.      Now we've got to replace him in the depth rotation....

 

OK....   one more piece of the puzzle to fill in......

This would lead one to believe that RB within rounds 2-3 is a huge possibility.

RB depth can be had in later rounds,  if not UDFAs.

I agree that the handling of Boom is confusing to me (unless I am missing something). I understand the injury from last season but if it was not for him in 2014 we would literally would have had nothing in the running game towards the end of the season. I thought he played great down that stretch from a guy who did not touch the ball at all early in the year.

I know people on the board are a big fan of his, however he really is nothing but a depth back. I'd rather give varga the playing time then boom

I get the love affair of Varga, but he has done NOTHING to warrant being possibly number two on the RB depth chart behind an aging RB.

I was speaking more of a 3rd string back. Boom did nothing really to warrant being 2nd string back last year

Currently, Boom is the Colts best option as the number 2 RB. And like I said currently!

I really like Boom.  It may just be that he is not TRich - came in and replaced him respectably.  Especially catching out of the back field.

Boom was a nice change of pace back but as a starter, he dances too much at the line.

Zeke will be long gone before 18. I`d wouldn`t shed a tear if he were there at 18 and was the Colts pick though.
