Good player when healthy, but he's been declining ever since he signed his extension.  Perhaps a short term, high incentive contract will motivate him again.  He's also pretty young too at just 27 years old.

He's trouble.  He quit on the team after his big payday and spent the last half of the season pretty much riding the bench.  Kevin Acee (reporter for Union Tribune) basically said he was the second worst money grabber he'd seen and he doesn't randomly go off on players.

Would you say his woes are down to attitude then? He was a highly rated player coming into the league IIRC.

Some injury issues, big "got my payday" issues.  He can play, he just won't and I have yet to see where someone with an attitude like that rehabilitates.

Quite a few fans were upset at his drafting.  Boy have they been proven wrong, Denzel is amazing - he has a great career ahead of him.

I wouldn't mind if the Colts signed Butler.  The times I watched the Chargers this year it seemed that Rivers, as much as I don't like him, was the only guy who acted at played like he wanted to win.

 

Butler will probably get a big signing bonus from some team because of his name, but if he falls into that 2nd tier of free agents then I think he would be worth a look.
