got to love the haters that come out even after a great road win against a good team. On a side note the best corners in the league cant cover Julio, I would say Davis did alright

I thought Vontae did a decent job on Jones today. We have had way too many injuries in our secondary this season. I hope he can play next week, also I hope Adams comes back too.

I thought Davis played a solid if not spectacular game today.  Sometimes, the other guy wins.  Even on that long pass completion, just one of those things.  He stumbled, Jones made the play.  It happens.

I hope the team is ready for Bucs on Sunday, these types of games seem to be the ones we always have a let down blow out game.  A win here would be huge going into the Steelers game

Julio is a beast.  I don't know why they didn't target him even more.  But the D held him without a score, that's impressive.

The NFL's best star receivers should ALWAYS get the best of any DB they face, even the stud DBs. The great receivers always have the vig. Vontae held up as well as might be expected.

Teams will often force you into zone coverage with their formations.

Julio Jones is impossible to cover one on one against anyone, especially when you have zero pass rush.

No biggie, Hopkins owned Revis yesterday too and Julio has a much longer history of dominance then Hopkins does.

 

I don't think we can expect that he can completely shut down the NFL's best receivers consistently.

He played some towards the end of the game.... didnt make much of an impact but equally wasnt torched I dont think.

Vontae has been just fine, you're not going to win every match-up but he wins most of them.  So saying he is less than outstanding is a far cry from reality.  There's also a ton more going on than just Julio, his responsibilities go far beyond that on other plays where he relies on inside or shallow help, or where he is matched up against someone else. Watch the whole game.

he just landed funny after jumping after the ball. I think Davis has been nicked most of the year and that is why he doesnt look as sharp. I would still take him over many other DB's even if he is injured

I was there and he only got beat twice by Julio.  The one deep pass and the one he had outside leverage on and it was thrown inside.  And on the deep pass, if Vontae didn't slip he would've made a play on the ball b/c it was underthrown.  Keeping a top 3 WR to 3 catches (when defended by Vontae) is not getting worked IMO.  Keeping him out of the end zone is not getting worked IMO.

Vontae has been doing a great job all year.  Nobody can cover Julio all day.  Giving up that much size is tough on the body.  Great job Vontae!

Yes.  I saw him wondering around like he was lost a couple of times.  Rookies coming off of injury need time.  He's no exception.

He's been injured a lot this year. Could explain why he's not playing as well as last year. Still by far our best CB though.

Agreed.  Julio might be the best WR in the game.  No one can cover him for an entire game.
