Brad Childress????? are you kidding me? lol. After the crap job he did in Minnesota he should never coach again.

A lot of those guys are very good coordinators, I think we have to keep in mind as well that some of "top flight" coordinators that people keep mentioning have extremely talented offenses or defenses, the type of players that can adapt to any scheme and be successful. Personaly I'd like to dig for a coach that made something out of nothing, or very little. I mean I could be the offensive coordinator on the packers the last couple years and done well. As a HC you really want a leader /communicator / motivator, most of the x's and o's will be dealt with by the coordinators.

It is in my opinion that our new HC should be a guy that has a great resume with developing and getting the best out of their QBs. A guy that comes to mind is Rob Chudzinski from Carolina. The guy has made Cam Newton look great, and he turned Derek Anderson into a pro bowler when he was in Cleveland. I just think having a great offensive and QB minded guy would bode well for this franchise.

Now on to our DC, I think having a offensive minded guy at HC means we need a proven defensive mastermind at DC. Someone like Spags, Del Rio, Singletary, or maybe a great defensive minded guy from college like from LSU. I dont think Perry Fewell, Dom Capers, or Zimmer would come here just to be the DC.

jim tressel will be new coach i think it was planed from start of season same with losing season and luck in the draft all done by irsay

Well, that plan is out the window with the Polians gone and now Caldwell. Tressel won't be here next season in any capacity.

Truth be told, we need a new OC too.  They might end up keeping CC, but what has he really done?  He helped get Dungy fired in Tampa. He ran a horrible offense for 3/4ths of this season.

Hopefully the new HC will bring in a strong staff which is something we haven't had a hint of since Mudd and Moore were run off and even then it was mostly the two of those.I also agree that none of the named DC's would come here in a lateral move.

Dude would be a great candidate for our HC position. He has had very good success developing Cam Newton so early in his career and he also made Derek Anderson into a pro bowler in Cleveland. I think going with a very good offensive and QB minded guy at HC and a proven guy at DC like Spags, Singletary, Del Rio, or Gary Patterson from TCU or someone from LSU would be the way to go.

Marty Schottenheimer. Great HC, great teacher of coaches and successful in the NFL. Will provide stability for franchise during transition and will load us up with talent and a hard-nosed attitude. Here's a list of coaches who mentored under Schottenheimer who later became Head Coaches: Dungy, Cam Cameron, Bill Cowher, Tom Bettis , Herm Edwards, Gunther Cunningham, Lindy Infante, Hue Jackson, Mike McCarthy, Wade Phillips, and Tony Sparano. Schottenheimer is 68 years old, but the Giants seem to be doing well with an older HC. He got >>>ed in San Diego in 2006 and was fired for losing in the playoffs after going 14-2 during the regular season. Give him some sharp, young, hungry Assistant Coaches and he'll get the best out of them and turn them into HC candidates in the future. We need to hurry because the Bucs are interviewing him now.

Coughlin is three years younger than Schottenheimer is now and was only in his 50's when he got the job with the Giants and hadn't been out of football for five years be he got the job too. So comparing Coughlin and Schottenheimer isn't exactly apples to apples.

With that said I think with a younger GM it might not be a bad idea to bring in a vet coach. With that said I am not sure if there one out there that is going to catch the Colts eye as I don't think any of the broadcasting coaches are ready to come out of the booth yet.

Singletary? No thanks! He was a great player, but a horrible coach. Del Rio? No thanks again! Spags for DC fine with me, but not sure about HC.

Where did you hear that? I wouldn't think they would have flown there if there wasn't interest from Spags.

I heard that if spags would have excepted the DC job then most likely the Cald would have been retained and when spags said no thanks they shifted gears and let Caldwell go. Thank you Spags. That came from John Clayton.

Only 1 or three on that list, the others, ugh. Give me Billick and I will bet that Cohwers name will pop up soon.

Not believing anything what the media is saying now. After today and how 24 hours make and how the media was still saying that Caldwell was staying to the very end of the breaking news. BOOM he got canned. I will wait and see what Irsay and Ryan says. Also who would in their right mind thinks that Caldwell is a great coach, and wants under him?

    • Fries has proven to be a diamond find.  Figure our salary cap will determine how our OL future pans out. Starting WRs are some of the best in the league.  Can AR connect with them like Menshew done?    TE room wouldn’t mind adding Fannin but team needs devalue him as BPA.  Conyers is great in run blocking and can catch hoping falls to R4-6 range.    DL help is a major area of need agreed.  Think I had a Day 3 initial grade on NT Rene Konga but each week he has impressed.  Between Konga and Michigan’s Benny probably our two best choices for Stewart’s role.  See my recent Week 4 top 10-15 players posted especially for LB and DB options.
    • I would personally like to see more bootlegs, and more throws on the run. AR is SO good at that.   Especially since they love playing out of shotgun so much.
    • Army is playing mistake free football, very impressive so far. One of a handful of unbeaten Group of 5 schools.
