Colts Vs. Patriots Sunday Night Football Game Thread

Hi, Colts Nation! Our Indianapolis Colts are in the international spotlight in perhaps the most anticipated game this season, as the Colts host the Super Bowl Champions New England Patriots, since last January's AFC Championship Game.

Andrew Luck reportedly will be ready and start tonight's game for the Colts, which is great news, because he, along with the rest of the Colts players, are in a current six-game regular season and playoff losing streak, and Indianapolis has not won over New England since their 35-34 home win at LOS six years ago back on November 15, 2009.

Tonight is the 80th all-time meeting between the teams, including 75 regular season games, and 5 postseason games.  New England though leads the series over Indianapolis with 50 games and 29 losses, and the Patriots also have outscored the Colts in the previous 79 games, 1967 points to 1486.  Patriots also lead the series in the postseason 4 games to 1.

Colts Moderating Team including myself, will closely monitor both the Game Chat and the Game Day Thread during tonight's contest. We ask that you demonstrate the example of the same respect and sportsmanship here on the Colts Fan Forum as the players demonstrate on the playing field. We also ask you keep the online conversation fan friendly, and we want to try to demonstrate a positive example over an adverse experience, because children and even grandparents may potentially read our posts and feedback both on tonight's online game chat, and the Colts Vs. Patriots Game Day Thread Here On The Colts Fan Forum.

We have been through the same circumstance here a few seasons ago when Peyton Manning made his return, if not triumph, return to Indianapolis. Colts fans at the real Lucas Oil Stadium were receptive in his return, and the players on the field played in their normal competitiveness, and there was no real hostility.

I was impressed with the decent, respectful, even humourous posts, especially the gifs posted by our online members from that game. I hope our registered users continue posting that same content tonight.

Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth are announcing the live TV game commentary, along with field/sideline reporter and interviewer Michele Tafoya, simulcast internationally both on digital television, and in your personal devices on The NFL On NBC Sports, preceded by the Football Night In America Pregame Show, and locally in Indianapolis on WTHR NBC Channel 13, all media seen live on HD.

Bob Lamey, our 'Voice Of The Colts,' and former Colts and Wisconsin Badger QB Jim Sorgi, are also announcing the live radio game play-by-play and analysis, along with field reporter Matt Taylor, simulcast on flagship stations WFNI ESPN SportsRadio 1070AM, and WHLK Country 97.1FM, and The Colts/Vectren Radio Network.

LOS's roof could be open, but at the Colts and the station management discretion, might even be closed for tonight's 8:25PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, because clear skies at 48 degrees is the game forecast inside the stadium, along with 0% precipitation, 41% humidity, and very mild southeastern winds at 2 miles per hour.

Visiting Patriots are wearing their white jerseys and silver pants, while the host Colts are wearing their blue jerseys, and white pants.

NO injuries on tonight's game, I hope the Colts continue to stay strong and extend their lead in the AFC South with a win over New England tonight, and GO COLTS!!!!! :cheer:

I'll say this, if we continue to get no pressure like we have been, Tom is gonna torch us in this game and it won't be pretty. If he gets 3-5 seconds to throw every time, there's very little chance for us in this game. We can stop the run all day. Tom will sit back and get 5-10 yd plays all game and sustain 10-15 play drives that eat up 7-8 min and put up 40+ points. We MUST have some sort of pass rush and of course be solid against the run.

oh man. Was NOT this nervous last night. I guess this morning when I woke up I was just like "woah. We're about to play the Patriots"

Prediction time

Colts: Luck won't throw a pick till the fourth quarter

Colts: Moncrief has two scores

Colts: Colts hang within 17

Pats: Run game doesn't work for them

Pats: Brady goes 7/8 on third downs with two tds

Pats: Gronk has both those TD's

Final score: New England Patriots 38 Indianapolis Colts 23

I'm gonna hate hate hate losing to them but at this point, if we can hang in there and show some progress, i'll be a BIT satisfied (just as long at the players aren't)

Calling it now we will win by at least 10 points everyone has given us no chance to even come close in this game. This is when we play our best ball when no one's gives us a chance. Colts 34 pats 21

I think we will win as well but I have it 31-30. We may be the only 2 on earth that believe we will win haha. I just have a funny feeling because nobody is picking us to win that we will play loose and Luck is due to play great against these guys.

Thanks for the reminder.  Please everyone (including and especially our Pat fan posters) don't post just to express how much you dislike each other or just to get a reaction.  That just devolves the conversation and ain't nobody got time for that!

That said GO COLTS! :cheer:  :blueshoe:

I will say this, the patriots beat us everytime one dimensional..Slants over the middle, run after the catch, then they run the ball...We got to stop the slants over the middle or limit the run after the catch...Make Brady beat us deep...

Since Luck is playing I will predict 31-30 Colts. Luck scores late TD on a run. The Patriots have holes in their Defense too. They will score 30 but Luck will put up 31. Look for Mathis to have a strip sack for a fumble as well that will be huge.

I'll take that. Man, am I pumped for this or what.
