If Fournette doesn't win the heisman...the award means nothing to me

How so?

I just don't take stock in it anymore. Every Heisman winner who enters the league turns into a dud, with few exceptions. If the talking heads would look at winning the Heisman for what it is (an indicator of the best college player) I may give it credence. Instead everyone assumes its an automatic ticket to greatness in the NFL and they are proved wrong year after year.

It is the award for best college player. The history of the winner has always been very hit and miss when talking about nfl success

They usually do name the best college football player accurately, unlike the NFL and their MVP. It's not the NCAA's fault that the best college football player has happened to be some kind of crackhead, mental case or...well...Tim Tebow lol the last few years.

If Dalvin Cook hadn't gotten stopped on 4th down against Clemson, he'd be my pick. He just did such a number on the Gators that they're accusing him of statpadding...by running the football...statpadding.

Dalvin Cook and Zeke Elliott are better running backs than Fournette.

I've watched several Stanford games, and I have to say that Christian McCaffrey is pretty exciting

He's a special guy, I wonder if he played on the east coast how much more of a push he would have gotten from the "experts". Tough when you play your games later and don't have as many eyes watching you or get the same opportunities for a social media explosion. Breaking the all purpose yards record is quite a feat.

    • He was arguably the most inaccurate R1 QBs of all time (depending on which metric you use). And for me, it's always been about the lack of touch. Occasionally, he will dip his shoulder and throw these little side-arm passes that have no accuracy, but most of the time it looks like one type: a fastball.   And he can be accurate on these passes, but it's also inconsistent. JT O'Sullivan mentioned this in the breakdown Week 1 (curious to see his and Baldy's breakdowns this week). When AR throws it with a lack of touch, it can do a few things: create too much anticipation and it becomes an overthrow, cause the ball to sail high and it can limits the angles he can drop in passes.   It's a big issue that has overall limitations on AR's passing. This offseason, (I believe) his personal QB coach talked about improvements from year 1 to year 2 with this ability to change speeds and throw with touch, so they have been working on it.. But so far we haven't seen these improvements.    Until that happens, he's going to be a highlight reel player who struggles overall, like he was at UF.
    • Home made passing motion is a good term.  The issue is that he's a pro QB who has not come to his profession equipped with the skill he should have been taught in his youth.  A failure of the modern football way that allows a QB to pass to the next grade by getting by on his natural athleticism but not really learning a marketable skill.     The scary part is that we don't know if AR has that natural hand to eye coordination that the good throwers have.  College is supposed to weed those out to where those students who lack it get cut and have to make a living using their actual college degree instead of getting promoted to the NFL.  I don't think we've gotten to that fork in the road with AR yet.
    • For the record, I’m not blaming AR for being 0-2. I honestly don’t care about our record at all this year.    I want to see two things:   first:  can he stay healthy a full season second: does he progress with more game experience
    • I noticed that too. But I think that’s something that will come. Yesterday was just his 20th game since highschool… he’s relied on sheer athletic ability to this point, now comes the fine tuning.
    • Cowherd is an *. He trashed Jordan Love this time last year saying he was nothing more than a backup because he couldn't hit the " layups" . This went on for weeks until Love started playing well then Cowherd jumped on the Love bandwagon.
