Steelers @ Patriots Gameday Thread

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to start a gameday thread! Football is back!

In other news, Brady was sacked and Malcom Brown got torn apart on a couple of those long runs by the Steelers early on. :)

What a catch by Brown

To think that him and TY were neck and neck on stats for a good portion of the season last year really says something about TY.

Imagine that. Steelers have no communication. They're getting pats radio broadcast thru their headsets.... Coincidence? Lol

Pittsburg lbs can't cover and then steelers offense keeping things short and letting pats come up and tackle. Collins is too athletic to expect to throw those bubble screens etc he closes to fast.

It should be 14-0 Steelers. Todd Haley is a *.

i don't know about 14-0 but that was a horrible call on the flanker pass.....just dumb....killed their momentum and playing zone it was never going to work and they were running well and had great momentum. Dumb call and worse they didn't check down to a run.

Brady picking up where he left off... 5 yd passes and carving up the defense. Like a million paper cuts.

I've already got my bids in for Dion Lewis. He's the Shane Vareen this year.

They said he had a stint with the Colts. I don't recall that

That's just a terrible defense...terrible (in a Charles Barkley voice)....looks like colts back in Peyton days except no Mathis and freeney. Steelers going to have to score a lot of points this year....they can out score most but not a patriot team that is just as good on offense...and a decent defense.

It's like Pittsburgh had no idea Brady was going to throw to Edelman and Gronk. Who else is going to catch the ball? Come the heck on.

"Coach, you think we should cover anyone?"

Tomlin "Nope."

their secondary is perhaps the worst in the league....the worst...and those lbs can't cover either...they are better at pursuit and rushing the passer. They know their defense is awful...they can only hope to slow teams down and hold to fgs. That defense shouldn't be allowed to wear the steeler colors honestly they are a disgrace to the black and gold.

    • For some reason, I completely forgot about that part. Good call. So yea, definitely less plausible of a situation.
    • There was no supplemental draft and won’t be for 2020.     https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nfl.com/_amp/nfl-will-not-hold-supplemental-draft-in-2020
    • I mean.... isn't the obvious answer Rivers? I know he has been a bit of an iron man his whole career, but at this point he certainly isn't getting any younger, and lets be real, the alternatives to Rivers are not ideal at this point in time. We know what Jacoby has to offer, and it is about 8-8.... Eason straight up isn't ready. Do we really trust Chad *Swag* Kelly to take us to the playoffs and potentially win a SB? All previous posts have made great arguments about TY, Turray, Campbell, etc etc etc.... but there are other players at those positions who can potentially step up and fill in those spots. We are pretty much all in on Rivers if we are going to have a successful season.
    • It's an imaginary situation. An IF situation. Surely you can transpose times with the two QBs, I'm not asking you to picture Mahomes playing in the Bart Starr era.   I'm saying if Patrick Mahomes started off.....nevermind. It doesn't matter. Lets just say Mahomes is great and as a neutral, I'm glad a young QB with superb potential got drafted by an organization that knew exactly what to do with him.
    • I have seen a number of NFL media people talk about Campbell.... not in a glowing sense, but when they mention the Colts offense, they list him off as one of the weapons at Rivers' disposal. I think at some point i've seen it on Good Morning Football and also on the Around the NFL Podcast. Gregg Rosenthal is plugged in on him a bit. Again, no one is predicting he is going to come out and take over the league or anything, but they are talking about him as one of Rivers' weapons.
