New Years Colts Mock Draft W/trade

Recommended Posts

This is my draft if the Colts were to win the Jags game this Sunday and get the 2nd overall pick...

Indy trades the 2nd overall pick to Washington for their 7th overall pick, 2012 2nd, and their 2013 1st round pick. (I could see a team like Washington or Miami wanting to trade up to get RGIII since he and Luck are the only 2 stud prospects at QB this year.

1st(via trade)- CB Morris Claiborne (Gives us a great young corner that could be in the mold of Darrelle Revis. I think we will play more man coverage and mix things up so a good cover corner is needed to shut down half the field.)

2nd- WR Kendall Wright (Gives us a speed WR who can stretch the field. Now we can let go of Gonzo and still have Garcon, Collie, and Wright at WR.)

2nd(via trade)- DT Brandon Thompson (Gives us a good NT to share time with AJ)

3rd- S Markelle Martin (We now have a very good DB core adding Martin to SS and Claiborne at CB. This defense is looking very good now!)

4th- OG Lonnie Edwards

4th(comp for Session)- OLB Sean Spence

Rest of draft- BPA

This is OK but this is what I Think

R1 Andrew Luck QB -- This Guy is a for sure Pro Bowler some day And if he were to learn from peyton manning for a 2 or 3 years he will be that much better

R2 Brandon Thompson DT -- We can not stop the Run for $#!* and he is a for sure start next year along with NEVIS and he can get passed the line and stop the run better then any other DT in the NFL

R3 Trevin Wade CB-- he is fast great hands and the boy has got Hops he is not a start right away player but he will in the next 2 years plus we have the wrost CB set up ever

R4 Mike Brewster C-- he is a big guy and we need to plan for when jeff saturday retires and he is by FAR the best Center in the Draft

R4 B.J. Cunningham WR-- he is big fast and catches as well as Larry Fitz we need to plan for reggie leaveing so i think Cunningham is the best fit for this team

R5 Matt Reynolds T-- he is haveing a rough year this year but last year he was exspected to be a top 10 pick and fell to R5 from injury but i think if we give him a year of learning he will be a great T

R6 Ryan Miller G -- he is a monster he is 6'8" 360lb he is very fast and very physical he is the kind of G that would sit Behind Ryan Deim for 2-3 years and come out and go to the probowl the next year

R7 Bobby Rainey HB/KR-- i can describe him in two words Darren Sproles he is 5'6" and is the fastest Player I have ever seen, He can catch and return

this is what i think

    • Richardson  accuracy  on deep balls is his strength.  Hence why you pair an elite deep threat in worthy.
    • No.   You weren’t.   If you were the least bit sincere, we’d be having these conversations in private.  But you’ve repeatedly ignored my efforts to do that.  Your call.      Then you avoid me until I’m in an uncomfortable conversation with another poster.   You use that awkward moment as an excuse for you to come in with some sincere friendly advice.   The problem is, you’re neither sincere, nor friendly.  And you’ve been doing this for months now.  This is not new.   The pattern is clear and obvious.     And the shame of it all is that even with our different views on Ballard we have enough in common that we should be friendly.  Maybe not friends, but friendly.  You wouldn’t need to address me as “Sir.”    “Good deed going unpunished”.  You flatter yourself.     But your actions speak much louder than your words.   There’s no reason for me to trust you.  And here we are.  A real shame.
    • In a year when the Colts were in serious need of a QB and in position to draft one, Ballard came up in front of the media 3 days before the draft and straight up said something to the effect of "That guy everybody in media is talking about(Levis), we are not taking him". I don't know why you think the Colts are trying to throw us off the scent this year specifically. They are not trying to give us away the pick(thus the vagueness), but I also don't really think they are trying to mislead anybody. This usually becomes specifically apparent in retrospect after the draft when you look back at a lot of those quotes in the videos they release pre-draft... and they were talking precisely about players we ended up drafting, which they reveal in the post-draft video by extending some of those quotes(they did that with AR last year for example).    And about why people are doing it(guessing who they are talking about) - because it is fun. Nobody has the illusion that we will be right in our guesses 100% of the time... or anywhere close really... but it's still fun. And it's part of why the Colts release those videos with those quotes - to create engagement with the fanbase... part of which, and the entirety of which that 70 pages thread and whole board is about in the offseason. is to guess who the Colts might take and how they might feel about specific prospects.
    • Sir, I was just trying to help you out. No good deed goes unpunished!
