Forget Moncrief's hops

....... But he doesn't do anything for the team

Least Moncrief actually makes an impact in the games

Colt probably is about to be a backup again this season if he even makes the team

He's a contributor on Special Teams.

Aka replaceable

Just don't like how this warrants a video and article when it's not even guaranteed he'll be on the team come September

Colt's role as a Colt is absolutely irrelevant to this piece. The guy showed incredible athleticism/ups. The fact that you don't think it deserves any attention because he's not a key player is ridiculous.

Wait a gall dern minute here...

I just watched a Woody and Wesley movie that proclaimed this an impossible feat...

It really does look impossible, though... Anderson isn't even really built like someone who you'd think could jump over your head...

So what if he is a back up player? There are 22 starters so that means there are 31 back up players. Why do you insist on spewing negative comments? Sometimes your comments suggest your not really a Colt fan, just a pretender.

"we already knew that Indianapolis Colts safety Colt Anderson was a great athlete from his 81 career tackles" < is that supposed to be sarcasm...

maybe its 81 career ST tackles

Looked fake to me. Possibly a joke? Something looked off here.

I wondered why you couldn't see him before the jump as well.

It's still impressive, but I just wondered was he running then jumping?

Either way white men CAN jump!! lol

It looked ....odd. There's a 'skip' in his motion after he left the ground, appearing as if he didn't make the jump, appearing as if his momentum was reckoning him to fall backward.

The fact that his probable hand hold is out of frame makes me question this as nothing but a joke response to Moncrief's impressive leap. It looks to me like he grabbed something with his hands that is above and out of frame.

That being said, if I tried this, I would've collapsed during the running start phase. The only jump that would occur thereafter would be the paramedics attempting to jump-start my heart.

Thank you, appreciate it

Colt is a great player. He is super fast and makes a ton of plays on special teams. I can't believe he isn't put in to play safety or split time with someone.

When did this happen?     When did Colt Anderson become a "great player"...??

He had 16 special teams tackles last year.    The figure used in the story (87) is his career total.

I think he's got no better than a 50-50 shot to make the roster this year.

Other players in his way.....   Adams, Lowery, Geathers,  Guy,  McDonald.    That's 5.

And it's not even clear that 5 will make the 53 man roster....

I'm not saying he's a bad player....    but I think he falls far short of being a "great player".....

Just sayin.....

That's an everyday risk given their profession. Plyometrics are a key group of exercises, especially for professional athletes.

Really? Basically slowing the frames down then speeding them up at the apex of his jump makes it look fake? Two functions a monkey could perform in basic video editing.

ACL's don't get torn from walking/running and jumping...

looked like a simple camera trick.  Perhaps he was jumping down and rhey reversed it and put the voice on later.

haha:facepalm:  He jumps from a completely different location than where he lands when coming off the stack... There is no trick..

It was coach speak. But he really is a pretty decent player even though he plays special teams.

    • posted my 1st round mock with no trades  would appreciate feedback
    • I stop doing mocks a couple years ago on here, because folks always  do a bunch of nonsense trades to beef up their mocks.
    • Keep in mind a few things.... Houston is a 3-4. The dominant end on 3-4s are typically targets for doubles more than any DL position (4-3 or 3-4). Houston's DL (the other DE and NT) and both OLBs are pretty horrible. I don't think any of them rated above 50s in PFF, and IIRC, several were below 50, which is just plain bad. Point being, is that nobody else demanded attention, so why not double Watt, that is, if he's even on the field.  You're comment above about players raising the level of play from others. That's great and all, but that's harder to do when you go to a new team, and it's even harder to do when you're not on the field most of the season.   I'm a fan of Watt. I think he's one of the best to ever play the position. That said, his name and history will demand a lot more than he's worth. Even when he was on the field, his production was down comparatively in 2020.   While I wish we got home more, IMO it's more a product of conservative D scheme. Our blitz % is near league low, and Buckner was the only player on the team with more than 100 pass rushing snaps. With all that, Indy was still ranked 14th in pass rush.  That's pretty good considering the very low blitz %.   Also of note, Houston was 6th in the league in pass rush win rate. Watt was 8th. Would Watt be better on the Colts? Probably. But it's more likely the surrounding team makes him better, than vice versa. It's also likely that Indy uses him as a situational guy, or at least rotational, like they use Houston now. Probably less.
