Supposed Luck response to a Jets fan.

Recommended Posts

Stellar reporting.

I highly doubt that happened, but who knows. All I know is we won't let him leave anytime soon.

I don't know if it happened or not, funny if it did though.  You're right Luck is not going anywhere for a long time.

2 problems here

1. It's from Fox.

2. That doesn't appear to be like Luck and all of his goofy character to have a response like that.

1. Why would the fact that it is from Fox be a problem vs. any other sports site?

2. Do you really believe that Luck is incapable of dropping an F bomb?

Pats game Luck dropped a huge F bomb when we finally scored. He is capable of cursing the evidence is there. Would he say that to another teams fan... Unless he was drunk and slipped up, I personally doubt it.

Someone has nibbled at the liberal cheese a bit too much.

FOX Sports has a respectable reputation, and is somewhat separate from FOX News in general, from all I've heard.

IF....if he even said this, I'm sure it was in a joking "Guy humor" kinda way. Don't tell any of the ladies here, but we (men) usually get quite crude when the women folk aren't around.

:woah: Holy cow lets all make a big deal Luck has a potty mouth. (Not a shot at the OP but the article...Though I really don't think you can call it an article as short as it is)

I hope he said that

Couple of things.....

First,  Fox is NOT the originator of the story.    The New York Post is.    Fox simply shared the Post story.

Second,  while I think Luck is capable of dropping an ^^^,  especially in a game,  I don't think he'd do it in New York City to a fan who reportedly said he wishes he was the Jets quarterback.

That response does NOT sound like Andrew Luck.    If it's true,  it's the first time since he became a member of the Colts that he said something inappropriate in public and it got reported.

The story does not ring true to me.

I'm sort of in agreement with you.  That sounds like something he'd say to a teammate or someone he knows, not to a random fan.

Now if J-Martin said, I wish you where our QB, I wouldn't doubt that response at all.

But some random guy he never met.  He'd probably just thank him for the compliment or something like that.

If Luck said a mean word to J-Martin it would probably hurt his feelings though.

Furthermore, There is not likely a single Jets player or coach that will go public with a comment about it but its safe to assume many of them would prefer Luck over Geno Smith at this point (Or any point going forward very likely)

I agree, it doesn't sound true to me.  But even if it was...so what...he doesn't want to be a Jet's QB.  But i don't think he'd be rude to a fan of another team especially when that fan was basically paying him a compliment.

On a side note, funny comment on that at the bottom was : "Andrew Luck walks into a bar,.....and wins 11 games.".....lol

Yeah, no way a grown man would use the greatest word ever while sipping on some beer.

It's not the word it's the context he used it in... If it were Manziel I would believe the story but not with Luck.

Then again it would be irrelevant with Manziel because no fan would want him as their QB too begin with.

I could easily see him saying it and I also don't think it's the big deal it will be blown into if he did.  Much like the banner story I think this isn't really a story and is only being talked about because it's the off-season.

First and foremost Luck definitely has been know to drop some F bombs, furthermore I've seen Luck borderline stumbling drunk before and it made me realize my perception of the guy is probably no where near what he's really like off the field. I'm not saying his goofiness is a facade, but he eats, drinks, and drops f bombs like the rest of us. And he's got a good sense of humor, if the statement is true, I think it was truthful, but all in good humor.

I don't see what politics has to do with this ruk. There's a running gag of sorts on the internet (mainly YouTube) that makes fun of Fox news and disrepute's anything they put out. It's a joke on the fact that their slogan is "We report, you decide." I see by the responses I got that my original intention had been missed and taken at face value.

As to the other part of my post, NCF expounded on what I was trying to get across in a better way. I don't doubt that Luck cusses as I've seen him mouth the holy mother of all "bad words" after throwing an interception numerous times. I just don't believe that Luck would be so up front and phrase an answer like that to a fan

Way to slip politics into a sports board.

    • Braden Smith allowed 1 QB hit and 0 sacks in 2020 with Rivers as QB.
    • To the bolded, the point of having cap room and draft picks is to add good players. I don't think good roster management necessitates getting rid of good players when their contracts come up, not when you have the resources to keep them. Especially not if you're a good team, with contention in reach.    I think some overstate how "close" the Colts are, but I do think we're closer to being a contender than we are to being a team that should be stocking up picks to reshape the roster. And that's why 'forward-thinking Ballard' has been rolling forward tens of millions of cap every year.   As for the five players taking half the cap, that's not really where the Colts are, or will be. To keep it simple, once you factor in the pending cap increases -- the cap will be at $240m/year within the next two years, from the players' revenue split going up from 47% to 48.5%, from the TV contracts that are projected to nearly double to $10b/year, and from the 17th regular season game + 2 more playoff games -- having five $20m/year players is about 42% of your team's cap. And that's without going into contract structure and doing a year by year analysis of how your spending compares to the projected cap.   Teams with highly paid veteran QBs typically have about 40-50% of their cap tied into 6-8 players. Packers, Saints, Rams, Bucs, Chiefs, Steelers, Titans, etc. Pretty soon, you can add the Bills and Ravens to this list (and they're already close). The Cardinals are already there.    Right now, the Colts only have four guys above $10m/year (Wentz, Buckner, Kelly, Stewart). We have some room to add highly paid players, and still supplement the roster in free agency. Admittedly, my perspective is based on projected dramatic increases to the cap, but I would assume the Colts are factoring in those same increases. And because the Colts have some wiggle room right now, they might use a unique cap climate in 2021 to take advantage of their flexibility over the next 2-3 seasons, and structure contracts in a way that allows them to keep their young guys and still add a couple of veterans in free agency.
    • I didn't think it that bad.   In hindsight it is.   Colts gave up the 22nd pick in the draft for the previous years #3 pick in the draft. In his rookie year, Richardson had good numbers - 950 yards rushing, 11 TD's, 51 receptions and 1 TD.  That was in 15 games with Weeden as the QB.  I thought with Luck as the QB his game would step up.      Was it a mistake - YES.   Was it the worst trade in Colts history - Not even close.   Let me remind you of this bad trade:   In search of a franchise QB, the Colts swung a deal with Atlanta for the top pick in the 1990 NFL Draft and used the pick on George, a homegrown product from Warren Central. The cost was steep. The Falcons received OT Chris Hinton, WR Andre Rison, a 1991 first round pick and a fifth round pick in 1990. A six-time Pro Bowler for the Colts, Hinton started 80 more games, including a Pro Bowl season in 1991 and an All-Pro nod in 1993.   Rison started for the Colts as a rookie and caught 52 passes in 1989. With the Falcons, Rison exploded, eclipsing 1,000 receiving yards in four of his five seasons in Atlanta. He finished his Falcons career with 5,633 yards and 56 touchdowns before bouncing around with five other teams in his final six seasons. The 1991 first round pick turned into WR Mike Pritchard, who spent nine solid, but unspectacular seasons in the NFL, finishing with 5,187 receiving yards. As for George, he spent four uninspiring seasons with the Colts with a 14-35 record as a starter, more interceptions than touchdowns (46 to 41) and was traded in 1994 to Atlanta.
    • You're kidding right? So Chris Hinton is worthy but AC isn't?
    • He kind of reminds me of someone like Strahan lite. He's so carefree and and goofy that it almost makes you want to worry about if he take the game serious, but then when you see him on the field he looks mean. Nah, we're good. Haha
