VIII. Conclusions Regarding the Game Balls Used
by the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game
Based on the evidence developed in connection with the investigation and
summarized in this Report, we have concluded that it is more probable than not that New
England Patriots personnel participated in violations of the NFL Playing Rules and were
involved in a deliberate attempt to circumvent those rules. In particular, we conclude that it ismore probable than not that Jim McNally and John Jastremski participated in a deliberate plan to

circumvent the rules by releasing air from Patriots game balls after the examination of the
footballs by NFL game officials at the AFC Championship Game. We believe that McNally and
Jastremski were aware that the inflation level of the Patriots game balls following pre-game
inspection by the game officials would be approximately 12.5 psi and planned for McNally to
deflate the balls below that level following the pre-game inspection using a needle provided by
Jastremski. Based on the evidence, we also have concluded that it is more probable than not that
Tom Brady was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of McNally and
Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls.

73
We do not believe that the evidence establishes that any other Patriots personnel
participated in or had knowledge of the violation of the Playing Rules or the deliberate effort to
circumvent the rules described above. In particular, we do not believe there was any wrongdoing
or knowledge of wrongdoing by Patriots ownership, Head Coach Belichick or any other Patriots
coach in the matters investigated. We also do not believe there was any wrongdoing or
knowledge of wrongdoing by Patriots Head Equipment Manager Dave Schoenfeld.

Wells finds it very likely Brady knew what was going on, but Bill and the Org clean.

Uh oh for Tom.

Doubt there's anything solid enough for punishment.

I haven't read the report, obviously. Just skipped to the conclusion, where Wells says he finds it likely Tom Brady knew about it. The same Tom Brady that spit out the line about "sour grapes" or whatever when he was asked. Depending on the evidence Wells cites, there might be some punishment pending for Brady. That's up to Goodell.

Mod edit: There's no need to call out other posters by name. Please remember the rules of the site. That goes for Colts fans and non Colts fans. Thanks.

I think Brady should be suspended at least through our game with NE.

:D

Yeah but that would be no fun when we beat them.

All kinds of text messages from the named Pats ball handlers suggesting that Brady was dissatisfied with the balls and was particular about the way he wanted them. One of the guys calls himself "the deflator." They say they want some gifts from Brady.

Oh boy.

Oh boy.

There's pics of Brady giving the guy stuff after the Ravens game. It's not just wanting, it's getting.

The halftime measurements of the Patriots game balls were recorded as follows:

Patriots Ball Blakeman Prioleau

1 11.50 11.80

2 10.85 11.20

3 11.15 11.50

4 10.70 11.00

5 11.10 11.45

6 11.60 11.95

7 11.85 12.30

8 11.10 11.55

9 10.95 11.35

10 10.50 10.90

11 10.90 11.35

Colts Ball Blakeman Prioleau

1 12.70 12.35

2 12.75 12.30

3 12.50 12.95

4 12.55 12.15

The media reports that everyone was saying were untrue are looking pretty true. All the Pats balls were under-inflated.

1,2,3,4.....Asterisks**** :)

I don't think the Patriots needed the air to come out of the ball to beat the Colts but it is a shame that it happened that way. Now the air is out of their high flying balloons, too bad.

I guess the reports weren't sour grapes from CP, RG and etc.

I would be shocked if the Patriots do not get docked their entire 2016 draft picks to say the least.

    • It might be a stupid question, but it's the Q he should have most expected.  The media is horrible (both Sports and Politics) and just looking for something to drive clicks, but this is a question every WR gets when he goes to a new team, especially to a team with an assumed better QB. Serious journalism is dead. Today, most Qs are just geared to get players to react badly and say something stupid.    DF should have just smiled and said "there's nothing to compare yet, next question"
    • He is ranking players not predicting where they will be drafted.
    • I have a feeling that Ferguson might come off the board on day one. Now I won't be shocked if he falls to the third round but you know how GMs value pass rushers. His bad workout numbers might drop him a bit and honestly he should have claimed an injury and skipped it all together. If Orlando Brown Jr had pulled that move last year I think he would have snuck into the bottom of the first round. Instead he put up historically bad combine numbers and slipped towards the end of the third round. Probably should have hired a better agent.   Ferguson's tape can be impressive at times because he is constantly in the backfield, albeit not against top level competition. He reminds me of Derek Barnett with his relentless style of play and play strength. Ferguson isn't a true technician with his hands but his hand strength is evident. I like his upside and could see him developing into a double digit sack guy in the very near future.
    • You didn’t listen to Ballard’s press conference did you?      He he said he will never force a pick to satisfy a need.    If there are two players who he has graded close then sure.    But to say he’s taking two D players with the top two picks is not going to happen if they have higher graded players at any other position
