Right now this board reminds me of the day we drafted Reggie Wayne.

I am going on record saying I love this pick. The players I wanted were gone.

I really think people are overblowing the amount of holes we had. Not a fan of the pick, but a team with soooooo many holes doesn't make the AFC title game.

Ya but we have no NT that is any good and no SS that is any good and need a better O-line and he comes away with this.

Has anyone read this guy's scouting report yet?

It's glowing, to say the least.  Speed kills in the NFL.  Period.

I've had the chance to see Dorsett in person several times and paired with Hilton, we will have no trouble whatsoever ripping the top off defenses.  Could not be more thrilled with the pick.

There are several picks left.

No one said Dorsett is a bad player.  He's very talented.  But we have plenty of receivers and Andrew Luck is the type of QB who can make average receivers look good.  We don't need to invest heavily on the offense, especially after we got Andre Johnson.  Our defense has plenty of holes and there was a lot of talent available when we picked to fill those holes.

Exactly. He's an exciting player, but we have huge holes elsewhere.

As for people calling for Grigs head, no doubt he had Irsay's ok with the pick. I thought we'd go D in the 1st but I was fooled. T.Y. is dominant at times so why not have a player who can duplicate his skill set.

Look at the bright side. Josh Cribbs will never field a punt for the Colts again.

I can't wait to see Grigson and Pagano rave about him.  He's a horseshoe guy, he just goes to work and chops wood, he's got wheels...they'll pretty much use every meaningless cliche possible.  Kinda like how Grigson said Werner beats people with his "want to"

nobody saying he is a bad player, we just don't need another wr.

We did need a WR.

And a good GM sticks to his board. We took the BPA available on Grigson's board.

There will be a lot of people eating crow after this day. Dorsett is a baller. He averaged almost 25 yards per catch over the past few years, and he will take the top off of defenses we face this year.

just stunned...if we are trying to win a championship this year, what everyone has been talking about. Then what in the world are we doing drafting this guy, someone we don't need?????? Grigson is a *, can't draft worth a.......

we aren't building a monster, we are building a football team around the WR position. Welcome to watching teams run through us again next year. One of the best DT's- pass, Top rated safeties all available- pass. Top rated ILB's all available- pass. Super Bowl- pass

I agree.  We have a lot of holes to fill.  But we also have several picks left.

I disagree (to an extent) that Luck can make average receivers look good.  Nicks was a huge disappointment, even with Luck throwing to him.  Same with DHB.  Many here had high expectations for both of those guys.

Guys were flat-out not getting open in the NE game.  Now we have 2 burners + Johnson and Moncrief.

Furthermore, Andre Johnson is not going to play forever.  Dorsett will come into his own by the time Johnson is gone.

Adding Dorsett gives the Colts a very talented WR corps for the long term: Moncrief, Dorsett, and Hilton.

Dorsett and Hilton remind me of the Harrison/Wayne duo (except with more speed).

even if he turns into the next Marvin Harrison it don't mean it wasn't a stupid pick we literally have WRs falling out of our *

This is literally awful

No more excuses

I agree both grigson and pagano need to deliver on defense or be gone after this season. And how exactly are we gonna play all these weapons? Remember we still have a talented 2 TE set

No more trust Grigson

Put up or shut up. If we get run over again Grigson needs to go. The guy can identify some good players but you can't just ignore defense like he has.

We have the oldest D in the league.  Our guys are less than average against the run... how does this help? I didn't even want them to go O-Line, D, more D and then more D.  Dorsett is awesome, but why pass up all that D talent when some of those positions are thin even at the top? We're a Safety or CB injury away from giving up 35-48 points to any decent O in the league. Our D line is pitiful.  Our linebackers are ancient and can't stop the run.  Argh!

We have much greater needs than WR.  Dorsett may very well end up being a great player, but we need other positions filled.

Everyone must remember we are not in the war room and have not been privy to the info the coaches and brass have on the players

I'm privy to the fact that we couldn't stop New England from scoring on us at will with 13 men on the field the last 3 times we've met.

A WR will do little (nothing, actually) to prevent that streak from stretching.

R-E-L-A-X

Andre Johnson is old. There is a reason Houston was ok letting him go. Moncrief is still raw. Duron Carter...who cares...totally unproven.

Dorset looks like a stud. Grigs obviously felt he was by far BPA. I'm excited about this guy.

    • Ok, I'll say it.  If your Wisconsin CB has to run after a WR, would it be a Wildgoose chase?
    • Very true.  Even day two.  After Pitts the drop off is significant.  There will be FAs with experience that would be just as good or better.
    • I disagree with this. I believe Ballard didn't want to pay up for an EDGE rusher. He admitted he wanted Autry back, and he went to the Titans instead. That was plan A. Afterward, he signed Rochell and re-signed Muhammed to somewhat stabilize the D-Line. He is now having to decide whether to re-sign Houston, or draft an EDGE in the first two rounds.    We are being forced to see what we have in Banogu, Turay, and Lewis. They are all 2nd round picks and it's sink or swim for them. They definitely aren't better options than Autry and Houston. I would say the same about the top EDGE rushers in FA this year. Cheaper? Yes. Better? No. Right now, we don't have an EDGE rusher that we can depend on. Maybe that changes, but EDGE is our biggest weakness on the team, bar none. At least with LT, it can be masked with Q and the rest of the O-Line along with some solid depth we signed. We are literally masking the entire EDGE spot with Buckner right now, and we're fully dependant on signing Houston back, or drafting an EDGE rusher that makes an immediate impact without knowing yet if Banogu, Turay, or Lewis improves.   Unfortunately, losing Autry hurt pretty badly. That will be hard to make up without some luck.
    • Tremble has been one of my early favorites   I saw one of the commentators mention the other day, that Tremble has had issues with drops   The little games I have watched, they didnt throw much to him...... is this an issue?
    • You may end up being right, but lets be honest, these 4 are not playmakers, they are just familiar names to us on a roster.   We need some pass rush to get this defensive scheme to work. None of these 4 have proven that they can bring this on a consistent basis   When the offensive line was weak, we drafted both Q and Smith in the same year   I hope they take the same tact this year. 1 early, and 1 mid rounds that can develop.   Also, 3 of these 4 are free agents next year. We will have some churn next year.   We had better load up at an important position, IMHO
