Colts select Phillip Dorsett 29 [Mega Merge]

Apparently they don't plan to have Hilton back.  But what about Safety? DT? DE? All good players available... ILB, OLB? So we're just using the Manning playbook, outscore everyone... except of course NE so we need to count on Baltimore taking them out for us? Sigh... Look, Dorsett is a great receiver.. but of all positions (other than QB) it's lowest on NEED....

Hey, this draft is loaded with 2nd and 3rd round wideouts.

Packers get Damarious Randall and Patriots probably snag Malcolm Brown, just watch

There's a reason Patriots haven't selected first round wideouts for a long time

???????? What about getting tougher....what about needing to stop the run.... Unless we are plugging that guy in as a safety to chase all the RB's that will run through our DL and ILB, I just don't get it.  WR was the one area that it was obvious that we didn't need to draft, much less with a 1st round pick.

WTH???

God, I hate this pick. I really hate this pick. If it means TY is gone next year then I really, really hate this pick. Malcom Brown, Landon Collins, Randle, Clemmings and Jake Fisher all would have better picks. We had more then enough WR before this pick was made, we cant even put Dorsett on the field without taking Moncrief, Hilton or Andre Johnson.

I would have rather seen Grigson take LaEl Collins, hoping and praying that he wasnt involved in the murder. A 5'9 receiver here makes no sense...

And there goes Randle to GB as I type...yay for Star Wars offense.

This is literally awful

No more excuses

No more trust Grigson

Put up or shut up. If we get run over again Grigson needs to go. The guy can identify some good players but you can't just ignore defense like he has.

Most of you are so predicable. Came on to get a good laugh at the arm chair gms here. All will be great. We are going to awesome; better then last season. Pumped.

Yeah. Better than last season.

With a worse defensive line and secondary.

However that works.

Has anyone read this guy's scouting report yet?

It's glowing, to say the least.  Speed kills in the NFL.  Period.

I've had the chance to see Dorsett in person several times and paired with Hilton, we will have no trouble whatsoever ripping the top off defenses.  Could not be more thrilled with the pick.

There are several picks left.

On the old Madden games I used to load my teams up with players who were really fast. They wouldn't have the highest OVR, but due to bad game tuning you could dominate with really fast skill players. I think Grigson is using this strategy in real, not too sure it's going to work though.

Haven't hit on their late round WR's either though.

I'm fuming right now. Both the #1 rated Safety and LB are on the board. Eat a shoe Grigson

This is stupid you gotta be kidding me that is the worst pick he could have made I like the player too just not where they picked him with Collins,Brown and all of them still on the board dumb stupid I disagree with Hilton being gone though the only way that happens is if we trade him and I hope Irsay laughs at him and says he is fired.

    • Sure alot can get a 1000 yards, but what makes wrs elite are the ones who score alot and catch first downs. Colts don't have a wr on the roster that scores alot. Pittman is a wr 2 in my opinion. Pierce a wr 4 with wr 2 potential. Downs wr 2/3. Neither one of those guys are marvin Harrison  or Reggie Wayne. None of our safeties are Bob sanders. None of our edge rushers are freeney or Mathis. No Nick harpers, Kelvin Hayden, marlin Jackson, or vontaome Davis at cb So we can stand to improve  at wr, s, pass rush, and cb. We have alot of solid  guys sprinkled across the roster but very few I'd consider  elite. Buckner, Nelson, and a healthy Taylor  are among the elite. That is why I'm hoping for a game changing player in the first round. Most rookie corners aren't  that.
    • Two relevant points.   Regarding the team ALWAYS going to be run first team, RB shelf life is short and JT has already played a lot of years compared to average peak time for RBs, so there aren't many years in him into the future unless he goes on like Adrian Peterson. This team was run first because QBs weren't good, was it run first with Andrew Luck? I don't think this team is going to be run-first offense ALWAYS, especially after drafting AR, while expecting him to grow to be a franchise QB-level passer.   Yes, it's all true that Jefferson got drafted at 22,Ceedee went 17, Juedy went 15 , Aiyuk 25 and Higgins 33 but GM has gotta pick the right guy at right time and other teams shouldn't get to the right guy before Colts do.   For every Jefferson at #22 example, there's a Jalen Reagor at #21. The toughest part in picking Jefferson at #22 is not picking a bust like Reagor and missing out on Jefferson. As you go away from the top of the Draft, hitting on busts is more likely than exactly drafting the perfect right guy. Drafting isn't that easy, without the help of hindsight.    Right now, We can't name which of the WRs in upcoming draft will be a good value, good return pick. Of course, 4 years later in 2028, everyone can point out Jefferson or Higgins or Lamb or Aiyuk of 2024 WR Draft Class.
    • No idea why you can't PM me. I did pm u a week or two ago. No idea if u received it.
    • Replace Arnold with Brian thomas jr  and I'll agree
    • This draft is loaded with offensive talent as Ballard noted. The move up to try to secure a MHJ , Nabers or Rome will be STEEP. People are forgetting how good a Adonai , Brian Thomas, Troy Franklin or Legette could be. This team will always be a run first team not a pass centered team so the need for a DYNAMIC Wr isn’t really as pressing as people make it seem. You can still get quality players if you trade back and acquire more picks for MORE quality players. Just look at the 2020 draft class Justin Jefferson didn’t come off the board until pick 22.  Ceedee went 17. Juedy went 15 , Aiyuk 25 and Higgins 33. So I disagree I don’t think we NEED to trade up and I surely hope they don’t.
