An apostrophe between the noun and the s implies ownership. So the kid owns it. I'm pretty sure it is kids', implying that there are multiple kids that "own" the game.

that was my first thought when i saw that, but do they even really own it?  im not sure this qualifies as a possessive

 

can anyone really "own" a game like football.  maybe if they own a team or something.  i think kids might actually be ok here
