Any word on Andre Johnson and if he's signing?  Frank Gore is nice and all but Andre Johnson would be a huge pickup to play WR2.

I think Andre probably wanted to sleep on it. I'm sure there is a car waiting on him this morning to drive him back to the facilities, though.

I was thinking when I heard that Frank Gore became official that we'd hear Andre Johnson officially signed about 15 min later, but no dice.  Bothers me a bit.

I bet I can guess what you do for a living!!!

Anyway....hoping some news comes out soon before I wear our my refresh button!!!!!

Yup, waiting on new about Andre Johnson here... trying to get some work in.

I have pilot friends, but I fly for business also a lot too.  So I'm into 'riding' in aircraft, not so much flying them.  I let my buds do that. (From single engine props to multi engine jets).  If I were rich and were to buy my own private jet to replace my Gulfstream (like Jim Irsay may do rather than fix it up), this is what I'd fork over good money to get.  A Cessna Citation X (Citation 10).  It is the hotrod of civilian jets.

Mach .935 (711 miles per hour!) top speed), but 22 million to own.  :woah:  Commercial airliners fly about 515-550 mph cruise speed, and the Ciatation X is rated 604 mph cruise.Tim

Time to hit the refresh button for AJ news...   :goodluck:

Do you have a link?

Aditi Kinkhabwala (NFL Network reporter who has been covering Indy) said "He if all goes well is supposed to a physical this morning as well."  She mentioned that he was brought to Indy along with Frank Gore, and that we could be hearing an announcement about his playing in Indy along with Gore today.

New user here. Just registered to announce myself as the newest Colts fan. I have denounced my association as a fan of the 49ers after their stellar display of mismanagement this past season. I have actually been a quiet fan of the Colts the past two seasons. Just want to say, congrats to all of the Colt's fans on the signing of #21. We (and his teammates) call him, "Frankie" here in the Bay. You will not find a more sincere and hard working player on your roster. He may have lost a step or two speed wise but not on his ability to read. Make no mistake, he can hit the hole like no on else. If you have a decent O-line, you are going to LOVE Frank. I am excited about the 2015 Colts and can't wait to see #21 do his thing.

All the best from the City By The Bay.

Welcome to the forum! Enjoy your visits with other Colt fanatics.

I'd be surprised if AJ gets anything more than 3 years $20 mil. or 2 years $14 mil., hopefully the numbers are closer to that. :)

Given Cobb's contract and contracts for Luck, T.Y., Castanzo, Fleener, Allen all coming up (in order of my priority), Grigson going after players in their home stretch provides us the 2 year breathing room window without huge contracts on the books. That is why I like these 2 and 3 year contracts being signed with Gore, Cole, Langford and pretty soon AJ.

Welcome aboard....the "Stanford kid" at QB is probably happy to have Frank too. Hopefully another tweak or two to the O-line will make both their jobs easier.

Sorry to see the Niners upheaval...its been a crazy 6-12 months....but all new Colts fans are welcomed so enjoy the ride.

Thank you Sir. Appreciate it.

I think Harrison had a good start but he declined really fast(i think Chuck did say that he didn't have the stamina necessary to play on the NFL a problem for almost every rookie) so i gonna love the fight for the starting C position btw Harrison and Holmes whoever who wins it we won, i'm a little concert about the right side but i think if Gosder is healthy we have a good OL. I think we are gonna draft a T to replace Gosder eventually.

they do have reitz who can play right tackle in a pinch and if they keep him and he stays healthy this year Thomas is one of those can play guard or tackle too. Still I wouldn't mind if they drafted a younger tackle in the draft like you said just in GC wasn't sn injury problem last year.

I still think we are going to draft a young running back as well.  I think Ameer Abdullah would do well in this scheme(got clean up the fumbles!) playing along side Frank Gore.  Wouldn't it be crazy if we picked up Duke Johnson to play along side Frank Gore! Of course I'm still on the Tevin Coleman train as well.  I have high doubts we'll do it, but I think Todd Gurley playing along with Frank Gore would be a killer tandem.  Just sitting here thinking of all the possibilities!

    • that’s simplifying something that is far from being simple…    if no one is putting pressure up front, professional receivers are going to get open regardless of the coverage… and the top qb’s are going to pick it apart.
    • we risk losing Paye and company in the next year or two… Right?
    • Thats easy. Having great coverage. If noone is open the rush will get there.    Or, I wish we blitzed more like Spaignola does as QB's are considerably less accurate under duress.    The best offenses have QB's that get rid of the ball quickly which negates to a degree the pass rush.  Scholars here are buzzing madly about pressures. Joey Bosa had a crazy number of pressures but how many resulted in incompletions? He had 2 more sacks than Kwity and played roughly 175 more snaps.  Detroit's Hutchinson, in their playoff loss, had no pressures, no sacks, and 1 tackle as I recall. And a heckuva player. Truth is you better have really good ability at both, including highly intelligent fast players in the back seven.
    • Any news on the attempted talks with Blackmon?   Worst case scenario:  we don't sign Blackmon, or any other safety FA, miss out on what few guys there are in this very non-deep safety draft, and wind up going into the season with Cross and Thomas as our best two guys.  Ewwww.
    • My follow up is about what you think is the most cost-efficient way to acquire the needed players to make the defense work as designed.    As to your point about risk, I guess... If you think specific DE prospects just aren't that good, that's one thing. I'm definitely against propping up a prospect just because he plays a position of perceived need. But I would think that if the Colts take a DE at #15, they see him as a potential game changing pass rusher, and the expectation is for him to exceed what the guys on the roster have shown so far. No one can know for sure, but that's the nature of the draft.   At corner, I just think that a fundamental reason why the Colts prefer their zone heavy scheme is because it's easier to find corners who can excel at zone coverage. So there's less of a premium on the position in this scheme, and that's by design. I also don't think the top 4-5 corners in this class fit Ballard's preferred profile. (Side point: This is not conventional thinking, but I think the order of importance in this defense is 3T, Edge, Will, FS, then CB. I think the objective is to take away big plays, funnel routes to the middle, and have rangy playmakers at Will and FS who can create turnovers. I'm not saying that's how I would build a defense, but I think that's the intention. Which also influences my thinking on Ballard's preferences in the draft.)    The scheme element doesn't necessarily apply at WR, but I think the value at WR favors taking one on Day 2, and I think Ballard's appetite for second round WRs is well established. I'd be open to drafting a WR at #15, but I don't think the Colts will do it.   So if I was an oddsmaker, I'd favor the Colts going DE or DT at #15, just based on how I think the top of the draft will fall, and the players available. I think most fans prefer corner or WR, mostly because of perceived need, but I don't see that happening. Nothing would shock me, though.
