Disappointing time for Dawson. And as for people saying Shelton stock has dropped after the 40, the guy had I think 9 sacks from NT in the freakin Pac-12. Not the Sun Belt, the Pac-12. The guy is a good football player and would be stoked if he was there at 29.

I do. If his play weight is 220, and he loses a ton of speed and quickness at 235, then he doesn't fit. Can't play ILB at 220, and there's no explosiveness at 235.

I don't think you should take combine numbers as gospel as far as draft stock. It can definitely put some little known players on the map and confirm/put to rest any concerns you may have from game tape, but tape is where it's at.

At no time in any of their careers will any of those guys line up on the blocks. Some guys have amazing quickness and get up to top speed very fast, but just don't have that high of a top speed. For most LBs, that quickness is where it is and an average 40 time won't trump what you're seeing on game tape.

From what I've heard, most GMs have their boards set before the combine and typically don't change them too much after.
