Indy still had Freeney and Mathis on the roster then...     I guarantee if hindsight were ...          Grigs would have ponied up for ate least one of them. 

 

That is incorrect.  Freeney, Kruger and Avril all became UFA after the 2012 season.  Freeney's was therefore not under contract when Kruger and Avril were available and all rumors suggested the Colts never made an offer to Freeney, so they were basically planning on him NOT being back.  So Grigson did not avoid Kruger and Avril for having both Freeney and Mathis...he only had Mathis at the time and pass rusher was a top priority that offseason, hence them drafting Werner in the first round.

Probably somewhere 10-12M a year. He is originally signed under a 5 year $61M contract but he is getting older.

Kinda slim pickin's really. Justin Houston will probably be tagged, that's who I really want. Unless we go crazy and get both McPhee and Worilds. I feel like Newsome is stepping up pretty well too.
