Bob Kravitz' Story

I do not find it interesting that the Refs did not test the extra footballs, if in fact they did not. How often does a team go through all 12 of the tested footballs during a game? We do not even know if the football that was handed to the Ref was one of the alternate footballs.

Maybe the reason why it was not tested is because of the gift that keeps on giving.  Man every time there is a "break" in the story, something comes out that debunks the story.  This time it did not take a day.  Adam Schefter is reporting that there were two NFL employees that were handing balls to McNally to then hand to the officials.   The ball in question was handed to McNally by the NFL official and he in turn handed it to the ref.   So there was no need to test or question it as it originated from an NFL official. :highfive2:

So in the end of the day, we get back to my point there was a very key missing piece in the puzzle which was why did it not make any sense.  If it is such an heinous act the NFL would of taken action and tested the ball, just like they did with the other balls that night.  But is was a non issue as, per Adam Schefter, McNally was getting the balls from an NFL employee.

Btw, Adam Schefter also reported that one of the employee that was handing the balls to McNally has since been fired.  The NFL has a policy to keep the balls and sell them for charity, this guy was taking the balls and selling for his own gain.
