ROFL - so now it was the Colts who deflated the football to try and get NE into trouble?  REALLY?   More nonsense leaks so that the entire cheating issue is convoluted even more - then they can come out and say they don't have enough evidence to do anything at all .... This charade is going on far too long the NFL needs to address this issue within the next 7-10 days!

They won't do anything you can't have the Super Bowl champs proven to be cheaters it will be swept under the rug.

The ONLY football that was significantly low was in the Colts' hands, and Jackson said that there was nothing wrong with the ball when he intercepted it.

If you can't at least admit that it sounds suspicious, then I don't know what to tell you .

Yes and they have video of Grigson approaching the area that the ball person had put the intercepted ball. Word is you can actually see a pin in his right hand. Then Pagano and three other Colts form cover while Grigson is seen bending over something that looked to be a football. Doesn't look good. I guess the NFL was alerted by some Pat fan that goes by the handle of something like Virdundant. Anyway , looks like that Virdundant guy cracked the case and speculation is Colts will lose their entire 2015 draft.

I've figured it out.  (This applies to all but a few of the Pats fans-it doesn't apply to the ones who come to talk football and banter a little-those are good fans of the game and I like them being here.  They would have returned even had the Pats lost the AFC or SB game).

Here's what I've figured out:

The ones who come here to reiterate that the Pats won the SB are angry that they are not being congratulated. Some believe that Colts fans should use words like "GOAT" and "Dynasty" when referring to the team or its individual members and perhaps renouncing our "fanhood" and becoming Patriots fans.  The fact that we will not do that is very frustrating to them.  The fact that we've brought up the deflation issue and even spy gate angers them because it takes away legitimacy to their wins.  My question is "why would they care what we think anyway?  Why put so much energy into coming to another teams' message board trying to correct something that they do not even believe?"

To those who do come here to talk football:  (Jerod and the guy who has Brady with the Lombardi on his profile pic-and a couple of others don't come to memory)  Please keep coming back as you're fun to talk football with.

There is just as much circumstantial evidence to support the theory that the Colts were setting them up as there is that the Pats tampered with any balls.

Colts fans ran with the very first report as if it was gospel.

Here's a timeline that definitely creates some questions based on circumstantial evidence:

- Colts supposidly thought Patriots were underinflating balls earlier in the year

- affcg the Pats submit 12 balls that were in compliance to start the game, ad confirmed by the refs

- before the half, freeman intercepts a ball and gives it to the equipment manager to keep

- Grigson makes a call to the league office saying the Pats are using non compliant footballs, claiming freeman brought it to their attention after his interception (which freeman publicly denied and said he didnt notice anything suspicious about the ball)

- Refs check the balls at half time, and if the latest reports are true, out of the 12 balls: 1 was in compliance, 1 was significantly deflated and the majority of the others were just under compliance. The 1 ball that was significantly under inflated just so happens to be the ball that was in the Colts possession going into the half from Freemans interception, the alleged smoking gun for all of this

- Kravitz, an indy reporter, runs with this story literally right after the game and it blows up into an epic media explosion and witch hunt

- nfl hires an independent investigation team to review the facts and determine if the accusations are true or not with the Pats tampering with footballs and is still actively ongoing

- Grigson later admits in an interview that they came into the game with the intention of "catching" the Patriots

- media starts to back off and lift their foot off the throat of the Pats organization as more and more reports are leaked from various anonymous "sources"

Like I said it is VERY, VERY suspicious if the only ball that was significantly below regulation was the one that the Colts had possession of and used as their smoking gun. Insanely suspicious actually.

If it's true that most of the balls were just a few ticks below regulation except that 1 ball, this investigation should do a 180 and point the magnifying glass right at the Colts front office.

I really hope it's not the case, because that would be a shocking low blow from the Colts organization to do such a thing, and if true I would imagine would have very serious consequences.

Maybe if they spent more time preparing to actually play the game rather than trying to set the Pats up they wouldnt have been blown out on national television.

If true, there would be some serious bad blood between the 2 franchises going forward similar to the Pats/jets.. you just don't do stuff like that if you have any honor whatsoever, only snakes and rats do that type of stuff.

Speaking of snakes and rats. What team drew the largest fine at the time in the history of the NFL? Who lost a draft pick for cheating? Is there another team in the NFL that has been caught and proved who were cheating other that the Patriots? Let me know when you come up with those answers.

Biggest fine goes to the Broncos.

You know, that team that cheated for three straight years in the '90s.

That only won 2 SBs because of how they cheated.

Because they think they may have cheated. There is doubt in their mind about the ethics of their organization.

Thanks for refusing to be honest.

So tell me again .. you had one ball that the Colts deflated to 10.5 LBs PSI. You had many that were just a little under. Where do you get the information that just one ball was seriously under the allowable PSI ? What did the balls that are not covered by " MANY" measure at ? Don't you think you need that info before you can make the assumption that the only ball that had problems was the ball that was on the Colt sideline . I know you don't understand this as I've tried to explain to you about 4 times now. But the word MANY does and never did in the English language mean all.

You guys think it's funny that the last "rumors" that come out are always the ones that are are believed.

If I said "Hey man I saw Tom Brady punch a penguin"

Ya'll would be like "wow, that's crazy."

But if some other guys came out a few days later and said "Tom Brady did not punch that penguin."

Ya'll would be like "ok well, that settles that. No punching of flightless bird occurred."

And it would be the same vice-versa. It literally always happens.

Sure, here's a little bit to get you started....

Colts - LaRon Landry and Robert Mathis were both suspended for PED use, and while they were PEDing it up the Patriots still managed to run over them for 200+ yards with Jonas Gray.

Ravens -   Deer antler spray ring a bell?  How about Haloti Ngata getting nailed for PEDs back a little over a month ago.

Seahawks - Literally lead the league in performance enhancing drug use and violations since 2010.

Falcons - Are facing charges of pumping crowd noise into their stadium, their owner Arthur Blank has admitted to doing this for over 2 years.

Jets - You know why they were able to identify and rat out the Patriots camera guy in 2007?  Because they were doing the same thing the year prior and the Pats kicked them out of the stadium instead of ratting them out to the league like a dirty, smelly rat.   http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3151217

Steelers - Mike Tomlin got hit with a $100,000 fine for going out onto the field during a kickoff return and interfered with Jacoby Jones.  Oh, and Jim Haslett the former Steelers defensive coordinator publicly called all 4 of the Steelers Super Bowls into question..  after admitting he himself was taking steroids as a player and so were the others on the team.    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=haslettsteroids

Dolphins - Committed 3 counts of tampering to hire Don Shula http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1964&dat=19700414&id=Kn8yAAAAIBAJ&sjid=q7UFAAAAIBAJ&pg=895,5694356 and were fined a 1st round draft pick for doing so.

Dion Jordan, their #3 overall pick a few years ago and their safety Reshad Jones were suspended 4 games for PED violations..   They also several years ago openly bragged about buying audio of the patriots offensive audibles and cadences  http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2696227

Bills - Back in the 80's when the NFL cracked down on steroid use, the Bills had more players suspended than any other team that year.. including Jim Hasslet and his admission of steroid use in his 6 year career.  Don Smith tested positive for steroids before Super Bowl XXV and scored a touchdown in that game

Saints - Bountygate.  This one was easy.

Lions - Suh and Raiola have been fined multiple times for attempting to injure players with intent, even after the whistle.

Cowboys - They just had salary cap violations a couple years ago ( http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7677375/sources-dallas-cowboys-washington-redskins-lose-millions-cap-space )

Redskins - Same situation as Cowboys, see link above.  has had a lot of PED use, illegally called out the Cowboys snap count..  (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/27/cowboys-say-bad-snaps-were-caused-by-redskins-cheating)

Bears - Brian Urlacher admitted that they had a designated fall guy to fake injuries if offenses were getting hot.  http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/brian-urlacher-says-bears-faked-injuries-slow-down-151334277--nfl.html

Browns - Are currently being investigated for texting during a game down to the sidelines, which is a violation of league rules.  http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12142088/nfl-investigating-whether-text-messages-were-sent-cleveland-browns-sideline-games

Broncos - Before a playoff game, Mark Schlereth and some other broncos greased themselves up with Vaseline and got caught.. http://articles.philly.com/1998-01-09/sports/25750018_1_vaseline-foreign-substance-cold-weather..

They also deferred $29 million in salary cap ILLEGALLY to retain John Elway and Terrel Davis.. which helped them win back to back Super Bowl titles..  this was back in 90s when that would be a considerably larger percentage of the cap..  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A28969-2004Sep17.html

Buccanners - Brad Johnson paid someone $75,000 to rub down and doctor his balls before the Super Bowl game.. and they won.  http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/reminder--brad-johnson-paid-for-super-bowl-footballs-to-be-doctored-142642094.html

Packers - Aaron Rodgers admits to overinflating his balls beyond the 13.5 limit  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/20/aaron-rodgers-likes-his-footballs-overinflated/

Vikings - Had a tampering issue with their balls earlier in the year http://espn.go.com/blog/minnesota-vikings/post/_/id/11218/nfl-aware-of-game-ball-incident-during-panthers-vikings

Chris Carter also apparently had his own little bountygate program going..  http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/cris-carter-said-put-bounties-defensive-players-played-133810265.html

Panthers - Same as Vikings above.. same thing, but pales in comparison to 3 panthers filling prescriptions for steroids the week before the Super Bowl against the Patriots.  http://www.cbsnews.com/news/steroids-prescribed-to-nfl-players/

Chargers - In 2012, they got fined for using Stickum on their footballs... lol..   http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/shutdown-corner/nfl-investigating-chargers-possible-illegal-stickum-substance-171138159--nfl.html

49ers - Had some sketchy cap manuevering back during their dynasty run: http://articles.latimes.com/1994-09-25/sports/sp-42797_1_salary-cap

Parcells accused Walsh and them of cheating in the 80's publicly as well:  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/25/bill-parcells-still-thinks-bill-walsh-cheated-during-1980s-playoffs/

There you go...  and im sure the rabbit hole goes deeper and deeper, its all just a matter of how much time you want to spend looking it up.  This is just a fraction of all the things that have happened with multiple teams in this league as an example of teams constantly pushing, bending and even breaking the rules to gain a competitive edge..  This might be like hearing Santa Claus isnt real, but your NFL isnt this bastion of integrity that you claim it to be..

So my question to you is where was your bleeding heart back then?  Why weren't you going up to the highest mountain top and shouting about injustice and integrity when any of these things happened?

Its because they aren't the Patriots.. so you don't care. So you'll pretend like the NFL is the pearly gates in Heaven as a bastion of integrity and righteousness.. with the exception of those dirty, cheating, classless Patriots of course!

Where do you get this stuff from? Substantiated twice in the playoffs? No one besides the Colts accused them of this, so you're literally just making stuff up. Harbaugh said publicly that there were no issues with the balls in their game.

According to multiple sources Baltimore contacted Indy before the game, which doesn't surprise me considering Pagano's connection to the Ravens. Harbaugh publicly steered clear of the situation altogether.

All this is true but the Patriots are at the top of the list with the highest fine paid in the history of the NFL. Also some of the things you listed don't fall under the category of cheating. You can point fingers all you care to but the fact remains the same. It's the same old story. Always deflect the Patriots wrong doing by bringing up what other teams do. As a matter of fact I did have a problem with a few of the things you mentioned and did voice my negative opinion about them. Just because another team does something wrong you think it's OK for the Patriots because of that. Nothing like passing the buck.

Oh so the size of the fine/penalty is suppose to be some sort of gauge as to how bad of a violation it was?  Haven't you and several others been saying how they need to come down hard and "send a message" with some strict penalty if the Patriots were found guilty?

in 2012, the Chargers literally got caught using STICKUM on their footballs lol!  and you want to sit here and freak out about 1 PSI of air pressure in a ball?   They were fined $20,000 for that and that is WAYYYYY worse than being under the PSI limit lol..

that and the fact that the Patriots didn't tamper with their footballs, and the investigation is going to come out soon and prove that definitively.

Then you're not fining the offense itself for the severity, you're using someone to set an example by intentionally imposing harder fines/sanctions just to scare other teams into compliance.

Thats a ridiculous mindset to have.. thats like you rolling through a stop sign and the cops dragging you out of the car, tasing you, kicking you and throwing you into prison so that everyone else around the neighborhood thinks twice about not coming to a complete stop for 3 seconds!

yes like what the saints (bounty) did to make sure no one does it again.

The Chargers used stickum. I would make sure no one uses it again. 20k is too weak.

Btw that analogy does not work because no one runs through a stop sign. Like what is the point of running through a stop sign?

So you are so sure the results are going to be nothing in this investigation? We shall see. Once again you deflect what other teams have done as that's some excuse. You have become very good at circumventing the issues that the patriots are and have been in. That's OK, you can take pride in the facts that the Patriots have cheated and still remains to be seen if they are still doing it.

The Patriots have "cheated" no more or less than any of the other 31 teams in the league. You are either naïve or willfully ignorant if you think otherwise. That's why all the "asterisk" talk is laughed off as bitterness and sour grapes. The Patriots players were throwing around deflated footballs at their parade yesterday...that tells you all you need to know about how much they and their fans are laughing at the haters.

Or just give him a slap on the wrist we all know no Patriots are ever guilty of anything ..

Habitual offender isn't defined by a 2nd violation of a rule, especially for one that they haven't been found guilty of.

They have an NFL rulebook, and in that rulebook there are penalties defined for violating certain rules.. this idea that the Patriots should be the team that is used to set an example of and punishment at beyond the terms already defined and have been applied to other teams is absurd, and literally just comes from anger and jealousy because you want them to be handicapped significantly so that they become a weaker team.

I'm also completely lost as to why you would bring Aaron hernandez into this . Talk about a strawman statement.

If someone was punished for reckless driving, 8 years later you don't throw them in jail for going 10 over the speed limit.

I don't understand how that concept is so difficult to grasp for some people here. A cop is punishing people for going 10 over by giving them a $100 ticket, but when it's the Pats that get pulled over because Grigson told the police he was going 10 over, you want them treated and punished like a child molester.

It's blatantly obvious, so obvious that many of your own Colts fans have called you out on how petty this little witch hunt has been

Even if the Patriots did tamper with the balls (which they didn't and will be proven soon enough ) the fine would be $20,000.

I already gave an example.. 2 years ago the Chargers were caught applying stickum to their footballs to prevent fumbles and make the ball easier to catch. Stickum was outlawed a long time ago because players were using globs of it in games and was so adhesive that they wouldn't even have to actually grip the ball to catch it, it would just hit their hands and stick.

It was a very intentional tampering effort to cheat, and they were fined $20,000 for it per the rulebook and that was that... and now you have Colts fans suggesting the craziest punishments imagineable for some footballs that were below the 12.5 psi threshold.. literally like lunacy level punishments that would cripple a franchise and bring it down to its knees...

It's hilarious and those people are going to be incredibly disappointed when the report comes out
