The man got injured and his play declined. He was playing at a good level before he got hurt so quit trying to rush the man out. I'm sure Reggie knows if he thinks he can come back and play at that level again. If he can't I'm sure he will retire.. Give him the respect he deserves!

If we need 87 to announce his retirement to light a fire under us for this game then we are in trouble. I don't believe we do. I think 87 and the rest of the team come out ready to go.

 

I also expect 87 to be back next year and probably with a little more bounce in his step he will be a yr removed from the ACL injury. If we win it all he might hang them up but I don't see why. We are a young team with a very high ceiling. If Grig's can hit on the draft this year with a full compliment of picks look out.

 

The sky really is the limit right now regardless of what happens on Sunday. We have a chance to be very good for the next few years.

I don't think Elway rejected Indy, he rejected Irsay, Baltimore, and Kush. I get him rejecting Irsay and Kush, but his rejection of Baltimore puts him in the bums fall of fame for eternity , as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the props about Ray.

That is not the point though. Pats already cut ties with Hernandez regardless of his outcome. He could be fully acquitted and he is never coming back to Foxboro. The Pats don't roll with guys charged with murder.

No one still knows for sure what happened with Ray. The bottom line is he became a better citizen down the line. The Patriots had no choice but to not roll with him.

If you want to go that route just look at Big Ben and how he won the superbowl in 2009. Same season as his "rape incident"

As for reggie some like the spot light and others don't. Reggie has never been that kind of a guy and wouldn't want to become a distraction by having the attention be on him. He's never been that way in his career and I dont think he would start now, you have to be who you are because when you start trying to be something else it tends not to work.

Very similar to Peyton Manning in some respects of holding other accountable to him because he's the leader. Reggie Wayne is just more of a lead by example guy which works too because hey if Reggie Wayne is doing it and is going to be a Hall of Famer then maybe I should be doing it too mentslitly. Both are effective but again you just have to be who you are.

True, very diverse University of Miami guys . You can't beat the U guys, Lewis , Wayne, Reed, etc. I respect Reggie Wayne, and I believe him to be a HOF player. As I related earlier when I went to the Colts- Ravens game, I met his parents, and they were gracious enough to take some pictures with us, even with me in my Raven's gear. The parents are nice, and the son is a gentleman and a professional, much like Peyton was. I'm actually more attuned to a Wayne, Manning, Unitas type personality, than to Ray's, although I appreciate his enthusiasm.

When you are a kid, it seems the players then are always your Heroes. Mine will always be Unitas, Lenny Moore, Brooks and Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer, and Dave McNally. Wayne exemplifies a guy younger people can look up to.

I would say he doesn't mind being in the spotlight, as evidenced by his training camp arrivals, including this years Indy car entrance.........

That being said, I hope Reggie sticks around as long as he is having fun playing and feels he can still contribute to the team.
