My mistake, I misread your point about the Pats. You clearly said "retire as a Pat" but in my head I read "be in their Ring of Honor" (assuming they do something similar). I dont think the Pats will 1 day contract him but I do think they will honor him when he retires. I believe he will wind up in 2 Ring of Honor situations - Colts and Pats.
I think it's gonna be more important to keep Ryan off balance. He's the centerpiece of the Falcons and the Falcons offensive line is less than great. We ought to be able to get some pressure, and Ryan tends to make mental mistakes when pressured.
For example, Brees is 40, if NO ends up with a top 10 pick, they're gonna be looking for his replacement. Big Ben is getting up there in age as well, steelers look like they could be a top 5 pick, they're going to be looking for Ben's replacement, or at should.
Its not that the injuries are career ending, its that some of these teams have QBs nearing the end of their careers regardless. Others, are dealing with injury prone QBs.
I'm just saying that the competition for the handful of decent QB prospects is gonna cause any asking prices for a trade to balloon in the next year or two.
