Dalton doesn't have ANYTHING around him right now.

Green and Gresham are HUGE...  oh and T Eifort did not even play this year.        Not like he is firing with all bullets.

who cares we dont have ab or mathis. just celebrate the win

Can't blame Dalton?!?!??! Jesus are you seriously an NFL announcer?

Dalton is to blame for his #1 and 2 wr's being out and the drops this game and both of there top 2 TE's being out? On what planet is that realistic?

Luck vs. Manning III. Hopefully Luck trains with Apollo Creed this week.

They are going to Denver so why not just watch film in an isolated location haha

No pressure and missed with no one defending.

Dalton is just mediocre.

Colts vs KC last year. No Reggie, no D. Allen, no run game and horrible O-line. Yet, Luck found a way to win.

He's responsible for not playing well. He's has chances. And overthrown recievers. All around not sharp. Fumbled the ball.

He's had a bad game. It's not a crazy thing to say.

Did Nantz and Simms sneak into here with Bengals caps?

"I'm glad Dalton didn't throw a pick there"

"Marvin Lewis still winless despite taking them there numerous times"

I'm not crushing him, but this isn't a new behavior for Dalton. I'm not just basing it on this game.

If that would have been a pick, then all the blame would have been on dalton, but since it was an incomplete the blame goes to the training staff and the helmet manufacturers

"I'm glad Dalton didn't throw an interception."

Great unbiased commentary there.

Meh he is probably hovering around 8-10 in top 10 QB's in the league list when he has all his weapons

Boomer on the postgame show NOT putting any blame on Dalton, saying "this was the brilliance of Andrew Luck blablabla"

But wait, Dalton didn't go up against luck. He went up against the Colts' defense.

Way to go Colts! Nice playoff W. Good job Luck played well today and stayed within himself. No interceptions or fumbles.

"Clearly this isn't the fault of Andy Dalton playing without his two favorite targets."

No mention of us missing players? Doesn't count?

What a joke lol.

10-15 and I'm not just arguing to argue. But that's where I see him.

Seems a little harsh for me outside top 10, I don't think I could name 10 other QB's I'd want under Center before him

P Manning

Brady

Roethlisberger

Rodgers

Brees

Wilson....Don't have the production that Daltons has but he don't crack under pressure

Romo

Eli maybe

As much as I dislike him I would take Newton, Stafford, even at his age I would take a healthy Palmer, though that is a bit of a reach. Luck for sure.

All my opinion, and in all honesty. I just don't think much of Dalton's skill set, and I actively admit that bias.

    • I agree with most of your post, not bashing JB at all, like you I have all the respect in the world for him.  He was put into a hard position, stepping in when Luck called it quits, but after watching him on game day, and reviewing the tapes of the games other forum members have posted in here, it seems obvious he has not improved much, if not at all.
    • Yeah, you’re right in your original post that there were people questioning whether or not he’d make the roster though. Especially with Fountain ballin out in TC. Man, that injury was even more unfortunate looking back. I really hope he can carve a role out for himself here.
    • I get your point, I am sure Ballard agree's. JB even by my eye ball test doesn't suck. We are just used to Peyton and Luck. Ballard may draft a QB and to be honest I would be happy if he did but not in round 1. He may get a gem in round 2 or 3 or so.
    • I don't think either of us can say exactly how Ballard does, or does not, look at things. We know some basics though. We know both he and FR are stats guys, and Ballard has grown the analytics team since coming to Indy. We know one of Ballards core responsibilities is build a team that not only wins, but also one that fills seats and generates revenue. We also know he loves leadership and the "right guys".   I think we both agree that Ballard is a very smart guy. He knows everything about JB. He knows his flaws from college, he knows every stat that has been laid out by all of us here, plus probably a bunch more. He knows exactly what last year's team and players did, and the difference in their performance to date this year.   I agree that the FO didn't get to evaluate JB under perfect/ideal situations, but frankly that never happens. He's not going to give pure grace for injuries, and disregard that JB still has a big problem with missing wide open guys regardless of who they are. He sees it all, and a lot more. And I'm sure he knows sometimes you have to make a call without ideal input/evaluation.    I do think that Ballard will do what ever he does, and we'll likely never know all the past, current, and future variables he may weigh. I just know where I'd put my money.
    • I truly believe the front office and Reich do want him to succeed. They would love a guy with is character and leadership to pilot this franchise for the next 10+ years. Sadly, I think he has reached his ceiling and  I think the Colts org privately know it as well.
