Colts @ Cowboys Game Day Thread

hmmmmmmmmmmm. That's one huge bone-headed WRONG call to give Dallas a first down on 3rd down, and one blatantly ignored bone-headed WRONG no-call on a 3rd down for us. These refs must have quite the money on the Cowboys.

Woah! No call on that pull by Carr?

Simms tried to justify it. "It didn't effect anything"

Oh so pulling someone down doesn't effect it? Really interesting

Lol, didnt effect the play?

No kidding. The ball was in the air and the defender had a hand full of jersey, pulling with enough force to turn Fleener's upper body.

We need a turnover or we're done before the half.

Would like to see fleener fight a little harder for the catch then just fall and expect the flag,

Hurry up offense, abandon the run, that's our only hope. Running the ball is a waste of a play. Please, someone hire Pep as their HC in the offseason.

Against a talented #2 or #1 vs a team with a good QB he is not very good, He is alright in my opinion don't get me wrong, But we will need to upgrade if this team really ever wants to be a SB threat

I don't disagree the Colts could upgrade, but he does not suck.

I guess we see who Simms is rooting for

Didn't you know "the Cowboys are America's team" said in a sarcastic voice. And wouldn't you know it Kris Kristy is a Cowboys fan too.

I agree...   this team is just getting sloppy and sloppier ...     as time goes on.

and it is EVERYONE....      that is coaching.       accountability.      There obviously is not a tad on this team.

The QB, Luck i can understand ...  but the acceptance of average play the last few weeks from others is just puzzling..

Why are we getting worse as the season progresses? We have sucked the last few weeks.

No. We've played a litany of horrible teams. We fold against real teams almost every time.

How are any of our mistakes Pagano's fault?  I'm not a Pagano fan, but a dropped pass isn't his fault.  A taunting penalty on Freeman isn't his fault

To go for a fake punt from our own 20 is a stupid call especially this early in the game. Also opening the game with 3 straight runs including a run on 3rd and 11? He routinely has this team unprepared to face the upper echelon teams of this league.

Oh and why show a fake punt in a game that means NOTHING to you?    Stellar Chuck...

Try it again in the playoffs....       sighhh

I get the whole, "we're a second half team" thing, but I am sick and tired of watching this team start games where they're just not ready to play. Against a good team like today, we will get embarrassed if we don't start making plays. This team HAS A LOT to figure out going into the playoffs.

Dewey was wide open. It was a good call but he dropped it.

please at least stop them here. Can't go down 21-0 and expect to win. We are good at comebacks but the cowboys are very good at shredding the clock. We need to comeback NOW.

    • I disagree with that.   He has the same flaws as when he came out of college.   He hasn't improved those flaws.  he's pretty much a .500 starter which is great for a backup.
    • Even if with a few extra kicks and a couple wins...Colts probably still have similar DVOA rankings and a negative point differential. They just weren't a very good team.
    • I think you are correct.   I'm sure Ballard seen some potential of him making a good starter, but that is just potential.
    • I don’t think I have enough information at this point to form an opinion.   I think Jacoby is caught somewhere between a top-tier backup and a low-tier starter.  But he’s still young and I’d say it’s quite possible he could improve a lot.  He has great arm strength and is one of the NFL’s best at playing through contact.  But he doesn’t have very good field vision, isn’t all that mobile, throws a lot of short, hard to catch bullets, and is generally too cautious.   I’ll reserve any judgment on Eason until I have a chance to see him play live against NFL defenses.
    • But Luck quit before the Ballard's third season...and according to many here...JB is a legit starting QB (or at the very least...the league's best backup).    So...you have one of the league's top GMs with three offseasons to build a team...and a legit backup QB to step in and start...and that team wins 7 games. That's less than the 2018 team that had no Luck for half the season and bad/hurt Luck for the other half.   Regardless of missed kicks last season...they were the 19th ranked defense and 19th ranked offense (according to DVOA)...that is basically an average team...or a .500 record team (sort of like 17-15). Either JB was a terrible QB or the roster wasn't as strong as we hoped. I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.   With Luck...the team was better than average no doubt...but they also started 1-5...before Luck started playing like an MVP and they rattled off 9 wins against the league's second easiest schedule.    I am not saying Ballard hasn't done a good job building the roster...I just don't think the team results have been nearly as great...or at least not commensurate with the praise he gets. It's fine to judge him on the process...which is what nearly everyone does...but we have to recognize that the team results need to get better fast.
