why won't they start moncrief [Merge]

I have to say I thought they were foolish not to get Moncrief more involved in the game.  It would have opened up T.Y. and some of the other guys.  He had Browner burnt for an easy TD if  Luck wouldn't have overthrown the football.  How can you see something like that and then never come back to him again.  The coaching staff is just not taking enough advantage of Moncrief and it sucks.

Are these buffoons masquerading as coaches, ever going to give him a real chance? Or, will they continue to trot out Reggie who is so damned slow it's almost beyond belief. I'm sick of it!

Reggie along with Fleener looked plenty fast to me. Moncrief did too, but alas Luck over threw him on the one big play they had. I wish they would let him either play more as a receiver, or replace Griff for good. Griff again almost got a safety for trying to get involved with a kick that he should have left alone.

Reggie has lost a step or two, but needs to be out there. Nicks played okay today, but the future is Moncrief. He needs the majority of snaps.

Reggie has never a speed demon to begin with, but a great hands guy and one hell of a route runner. I agree with Moncrief needing more play.

Agree. Nicks, with all his injuries and risky hands is a Reggie Wayne like possession wideout who cannot catch consistently. We don't need 2 of Reggie's kind. Moncrief needs more time and time to shelf Nicks, except for red zone situations.

Never underestimate the veteran presence Reggie Wayne brings to the field. Let me put it this way: Belichick put Revis on him all game. That's the kind of respect Belichick has for Wayne. Luck also tends to look towards Wayne a lot.

You'd be in the minority if you think Wayne is too slow. He garners the respect of both his opponents and teammates.

If you want to know how to keep the double teams off of T.Y. then get Moncrief more involved in the game.  Sometimes I wonder what the coaching staff is smoking?  Get off the BombBud!

This coaching staff has me continually shaking my head.  Moncrief definitely needs to be more involved.

Exactly right. Moncrief had his man beat. If not for an overthrown ball, that is probably 6. They have to recognize that and go back to it, or at least find a way to utilize him more. I don't want to take anything away from Nicks tonight, he made one heck of a grab on that TD, but I do think it is time to start adjusting the number of snaps between those two.

I sure would like to see more packages with moncrief, Ty, Wayne and depending on how many yards we needed, nicks or Walen. Walen has excellent hands and with the defense having to worry about Ty and moncrief over the top and Wayne as the go to guy, what defense had a great 4th corner to cover Walen over the 15 yard middle?

I usually try hard not to be negative, but I'm getting tired of losing these big games and Pagano always saying

"We didn't have them properly prepared".  And this is after it's plastered all over the Colts website that the players

put in extra preparation.  You're telling me that what we saw last night was the result of extra preparation?

    • Marvin but it will never happen. We will probably trade back even.    It has nothing to do with his father playing here either, it is about getting the best player in the draft. His father playing here is just the neat part.
    • FWIW:  sometimes when a player like Blackmon gets a one year deal it’s the players call as much if not more than the front office.   The player believes in themselves and are wanting a one year deal so they can go back into free agency sooner.  They view a multiyear deal as below market value.   Blackmon’s deal has a base plus incentives.  It’s not an insult.

    • Spencer Rattler better than Michael Penix Jr and Nix. Wow! That has to be one of the most ridiculous takes I have ever heard. To be honest I have never heard of that Tice guy either. McCarthy will be the biggest bust in this draft and I feel confident in saying so. McCarthy = Mac Jones. Washington went as Penix went, he had to carry Washington all season with an above average O.Line and average running game. He had Rome and that was about it. McCarthy had the best O.Line in the country and arguably the best running game as well. He was a game manager and could win as long as he didn't turn it over. Michigan beat Washington because they ran for nearly 300 yards. Tommie Frazier would have won it all with that type of offense and he wasn't even drafted.   Regarding Kirk Cousins, at least you don't have him to pile on anymore. You will see how life without Kirk is, the Vikings will be lucky to win 7 games and I like the Vikings as a team. My father would be so disappointed in the Vikings FO right now and their fans at the way Kirk was treated. He was still alive in 2018 when the Vikings got Kirk and he loved the move. He was the biggest fan I ever knew. He loved them when they got Fran in the 70's and was a fan until he passed away in 2019. His favorite player was Peterson in this era. He said he would take him over any RB that ever played except maybe Barry Sanders.    Kirk Cousins career with the Vikings: 2018-2023 *50-37-1 Record. A playoff win at New Orleans Saints in 2019, beating Brees.   *4 seasons with over 4000 yards   *3 seasons with over 30 TD's   *7.8 Y/A   *68% Completion I know, they should draft Penix.
    • Regarding Worthy -4.21 Speed has to be accounted for by a defense whether the ball is coming his way or not. So does that potentially create more opportunities for other Colt offensive playmakers.  I would say yes. I am sure the Colts have taken note of the impact of Tank Dell 5'10 165ibs (709 yds) on the Texans offense in his rookie year. If it helps take advantage of AR's physical tools and unlocks part of the Colts offensive playbook I am all for it. He is a quick twitch football player and not just a track guy. He is third all time in longhorn history with TD catches in 26 of 39 games, and has caught a pass in all 39 games.
