Is there a pass rushing specialist out there?

I don't understand all of the Dion Jordan love on this board. Picked 3rd overall and couldn't even start last year and barely managed to get 2 sacks. Everyone thought Werner was a bust, yet this guy underperformed and has been suspended all year. It'd cost a lot to get him as well. The value just isn't there right now.

Off the top of my head i cant think of one guy that could be traded for..alot of teams if they find a guy they keep him..I don't think Robert Mathis would have helped against the Steelers...any one know of a pass rusher that would be availble in the form of a Dt, De or OLB?

One of the best pass rushers in the NFL wouldn't have helped against the steelers? Please explain

Well he is in the wrong D in Miami he is better fit to play OLB not DE was just a very stupid pick for Mia

He played DE in college as well. Never had more than 7.5 sacks in a season and was only on the field for less than 40% of his plays his senior season. Dumb pick by Miami because raw projects like Jordan rarely work out.

He's barely 200lbs soak & wet in a 4-3 playing DE..... He's an OLB, he'd fit perfectly in our defense

Ship Landry & a 6th to Miami for Dion Jordan

I know of one. He's a pass rush specialist, a free agent, and young. His name is Michael Sam.

He can play 4-3 DE but i don't think he can adjust to our system also he is not good enough to have a spot just for "pass rusher specialist"(he is unproven).

There are guys like Sam who are young and unproven but at this point in the season you aren't going to land a good proven pass rushing specialist.  They are hard to find to start with so if you have one even if you are bad team normally you try to hang on to them.

Honestly while I do think our pass rush has been a little bit of smoke and mirrors to start the season I don't think it's as bad as it was yesterday either.  Tip your cap to the Steelers offense they played as good of a game as a team can play on offense.  They should get a lot of credit.  Sometimes the other team just wins.

As for our pass rush I think you have to be careful not to panic here.  You have two guys who I think are more of the same mold in Werner and Walden in that they can get to the QB but they will never be Robert Mathis.  I also think they do have a good young pass rusher in the rookie Newsome.  More times than not when he's on the field you notice him being out there.  That's very good news for a late round pick like he was.  I think he has a bright future here.

It wont help this season but the Colts will get Mathis back after this season too.  We also know Mathis is a game changer. I do think the Colts need to look for another pass rusher this off-season though.  Mathis isn't getting any younger and coming off the injury he had there is no promise he will be the same old Mathis when he comes back.  With that said, finding an elite pass rusher is much easier said than done.  Still, I think along with safety it will be at the top of Grigson's to do list this off-season if he can find one.

You don't think Mathis would have helped against the Steelers? Where do you guys come from? Mathis is a premiere pass rusher he would help against anyone.

He is not good enough to make a single roster or practice squad.  If he could get to the QB he'd have a home.

They would have double teamed or chiped him all day..there wasnt a need to double anyone else. I dont think we played bad I just think the Steelers O-Line was better..

If they'd had to have doubled Matthis it would have surely opened up opportunity for someone else?

I don't think the front 7 played very well but also credit has to go to the the Steelers O Line.. but again it shows the long term pay off I think of investing in your O-line. 2 x 1st rounders and 2nd rounder on Sunday night, although to be fair the other guys were a 7th rounder and an UDFA.
